Most companies launch one phone in each range per year, OnePlus have a mid-year incremental upgrade, but OPPO will be launching the third version of the Reno before the end of the year.
Companies appear to be scrambling as quickly as possible to launch a Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 based mid-range 5G phone. Realme, Xiaomi and Nokia are all planning on launching phones with the new chipset soon.
While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 hasn't been officially announced, Qualcomm did announce a 700-series 5G chipset at IFA. It is likely the new chipset will be announced in December along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.
The new chipset is reported to be a moderate upgrade from the existing Snapdragon 730G, as well as the integrated 5G chipset.
