* Update 03/01/01 – It is now believed this Geekbench listing is just for the Pocophone F1 and the name has been modified. *
The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 was one of the big hits last year thanks to its incredibly low pricing making it the cheapest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 phone on the market.
It appears there could be a successor landing soon with a Geekbench listing showing up for the Xiaomi POCO F2. It is worth noting that this could be a fake, so take everything with a pinch of salt.
The listing reveals key information on its CPU, RAM and OS. It is probably unsurprising that the phone does not feature the latest Snapdragon 855 SoC as this has only just been announced. It will instead keep the Snapdragon 845 from the previous device. This will be complemented with 6 GB of RAM which is also the same as the F1.
The Poco F2 is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS. In the single-core benchmarking test of Geekbench, the handset recorded a score of 2321. In the multi-core test, it has scored 7564.
With the current known specs being identical to the past model, if this device does launch soon, then it is likely to feature upgrades elsewhere. The original model has quite a wide notch so it is possible this will be reduced to waterdrop style as we have seen in the OnePlus 6T and Huawei P Smart (2019).
One thing I would love to see on the new model would be NFC, that is the main thing that held me back from buying it myself, as I have become reliants on Google Pay for contactless shop transactions.
The current Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is available from GearBest during their flash sale for a bargain £240.90 or alternatively there is UK stock from Amazon for £282.00
