As we posted yesterday, the new Realme 2 Pro was due to launch. It looks like all the leaks and specifications were correct.

Realme is the sub-brand of Oppo and functions in the same was as Honor, providing affordable phones away from flagship devices such as the Oppo Find X.

Realme 2 Pro comes with a 6.3” Full HD+ screen and a waterdrop notch (that Realme calls Dewdrop), capable Snapdragon 660 chipset and memory options up to 8/128 GB.

At the time of writing, we did not know the camera specifications but this has now been confirmed as 16 MP + 2 MP rear camera setup, with the primary sensor being positioned behind a fast f/1.7 lens. The selfie shooter, sitting in the notch has 16 MP resolution and an f/2.0 lens. The fingerprint sensor is on the upper centre back like most phones.

The phone has a reasonably decent 3,500 mAh battery capacity but lacks support for fast charging.

Like other Chinese brands, Realme runs their own version of Android called ColorOS 5.2, based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The other specification that was not available previously was the price, though my guess was pretty accurate. The prices for India will be INR13,990 ($192/€165) for the 4/64 GB version, INR15,990 ($220/€188) for the 6/64 GB variant and the 8/128 GB option will cost INR17,990 ($250/€212).

At first, the phones will only be available on Flipkart and they do not appear to ship internationally. However, Realme also intend to sell this outside of India and the global rollout will be announced in October. Assuming it does not come directly to the UK and you have to by off Gearbest and the like, expect the above prices to go up a bit.
