Xiaomi is currently holding their announcement of the latest flagship phones in their range. The new upgraded Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro and the Mi Mix 5G.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro was first up, and they have followed this annoying trend of making direct comparisons with other brands, even Apple has started to do this now, it all feels a little childish.

The Mi 9 Pro has been upgraded to include 5G connectivity as default as well as the latest Snapdragon 855+ SoC similar to that found on the ROG Phone 2, the up and coming OnePlus 7T, and the BlackShark 2 Pro.
Visually the phone retains the design of the Mi 9 with the same flat display and waterdrop notch upfront and a triple camera setup around the back.
They have, thankfully, fixed the biggest downside of the original Xiaomi Mi 9, the poor battery. You now get a 4,000 mAh battery. On top of this the phone also boasts not only 40W wired charging but an incredible 30W wireless charging. At that speed, it is feasible just to ditch wired charging altogether.
However, the 30W wireless charging stand they sell will be fan-cooled, which is a little concerning suggesting that it may generate a lot of heat while charging, hopefully, this is just an added extra rather than a necessity.

In addition, the phone will also come with a revised cooling module with 5 graphite layers, capable of reducing CPU temperatures by up to 10°C.
The camera department will retain a triple camera setup with a 48MP main shooter. Other specs include 256GB storage and 8GB RAM and options going up to 12GB and 512GB. On the software front, the device is running MIUI 10.4.1 on top of Android 9 Pie.
