Following the leak of the Garmin Fenix 6 renders earlier this week, a new leak has occurred which appears to be the Fenix 6X Pro in real life.
To be clear, this could be a hoax, the images show a watch with the same design as the current 5X with the first image looking almost identical in both design and watch face as the 5X.
It is only the rear image that clearly states 6X Pro, which I am sure is quite easy for some people to fake. That being said, I am hyped about the idea of a new Fenix 6, hence why I am posting these images, even if nothing interesting has been revealed, or even worse fake news!
Apart from these images, we don’t really know a great deal about what will be featured on the new Garmin Fenix 6 series. We have the names of the products, which has expanded to include a Pro variant, and there is the 6x Pro Solar which we can assume has some for of solar charging for the battery. How useful that might be on a watch like this is another question, but I guess every little helps.
The product line-up includes:
- Garmin Fēnix® 6 / 6 Pro
- Garmin Fēnix® 6s / 6s Pro
- Garmin Fēnix® 6x Pro / 6x Pro Solar
There is a lot of speculation and rumours going about. The Pro model might have LTE, it is also quite possible that the watch will feature an ECG similar to Polar and the Apple Watch. Then there is a possibility of a screen upgrade, I doubt AMOLED is on the cards, but a small resolution upgrade is possible.
It is almost guaranteed that all the features introduced to the recent watches including all the new Firstbeat metrics will be included on these new watches.
With the growing number of leaks, it also seems quite likely that Garmin will once again launch the new watches at CES 2020 in January. Though we may also see something like the Vivomove at IFA this year too.
