Tado V3+ Starter Kit & Wireless Temperature Sensor Launched – More accurate room temperature readings and control

I am a big fan of smart home heating, I reviewed the original Tado when it was launched, and I have been using Genius Hub in my home the past few years. Tado, or tado° if we want to use their Sunday name, has consistently upgraded both their hardware and software features consistently making them one of the best options for smart home heating in the market. They are one of the few companies that offer smart radiator valve which allow you to control your rooms individually, and in my opinion, it is one of the most important aspects...

Realme X7 & Realme X7 Pro with 120Hz AMOLED & 5G to arrive on September 1 – Will this be the first Mediatek Dimensity 800U phone?

Realme today revealed the launch date of its upcoming smartphones. The Realme X7 and  Realme X7 Pro will launch in China on 1st of September at 2PM local time which works out at 7AM in the UK I think. Realme X7 confirmed specifications Realme have revealed a couple of specs including 5G support and a 120Hz AMOLED screen. The 120Hz AMOLED screen is particularly good news to me, as I have not been overly fond of their 120Hz LCD screens vs the 90Hz AMOLED they have used previously. The poster shared by Realme includes a render of a smartphone...

All the networking companies were jumping on board the Wi-Fi 6 / 802.11ax bandwagon at IFA. With the iPhone 11 featuring the new networking standard, we may start to see it going mainstream over the next 12 months. At the moment things are pricey, the perfect example being the new Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 Tri-band Mesh System (RBK852) which will set you back £250. TP-Link Archer AX50 TP-Link has announced the Archer AX50 which supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and it can push 2402 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It does this on an...

Jabra Elite 75t true wireless earbuds launched at IFA with an impressive to 7.5 hours battery

One of the big issues with true wireless earphones is there so so battery life. The Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo Total Wireless I previously reviewed are rated for just 3.5 hours, I am lucky to get that, and I nearly always get low battery warnings by the time I am home from the gym. So when I noticed that the Jabra Elite 75t has up to 7.5 hours battery life I was very impressed. This is then boosted with up to 28 hours via the charging case. Unlike cheaper brands these use USB-C for charging, allowing you to charge...

Netgear Meural Canvas II launched at IFA – A digital art canvas with true to life display

One of the more interesting products I encountered at IFA was the Netgear Meural Canvas II, and it is the first time I have been made aware of this product range. If I am honest, I can't say it is something that appeals to me, but what they have achieved is impressive. It takes the concept of Digital Picture Frames, makes them bigger and gives them a lifelike display thanks to its special LCD display. It is the display that it the stand out feature here, while a 1080P display doesn't sound particularly interesting, it is the special matte...

Honor announces PocketVision to empower the visually impaired with AI

Honor didn't announce much at IFA this year, there was the £30 Honor Band 5, a demo of the already announced Honor TV which we don't know if is coming to the west or not, then PocketVision. PocketVision is probably the most interesting of the launches, while I don't cover software a lot, it is great when brands do things that actually help people. The app is designed to aid the visually impaired by making text easier to read. According to the World Health Organisation, it is estimated that approximately 1.3 billion people live with some form of visual...

Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 Tri-band Mesh System (RBK852) announced & it comes with some serious early adoptor tax

I love Netgear, I love Mesh Wi-Fi, and I love Wi-Fi 6. So I have been quite excited about the new RBK852 WiFi 6 Tri-band Mesh System from Netgear, however, you should expect some sticker shock. If you thought WiFi 6 routers were expensive then the RBK852 is going to make your toes curl. Early adopters wanting the best of the best, are going to have to layout almost £750, and I think that is only for a two-satellite system (I need confirmation on this). No doubt it is going to be a hard sell for your average consumer,...
