There have been a lot of OnePlus 8 leaks recently, way ahead of the expected launched date. The OnePlus 7 didn’t launch until 4th of June 2019 and the OP6 was at the end of May 2018.
Previous Claimed Leaks
How accurate these are is another question. Recently a render was leaked indicating the potential design and specification but I would take it with a big pinch of salt. The person behind the render doesn’t appear to be using data from a leaked source and the specification looks like a sensible guess. I think most people would have guessed the OP8 would launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with an 8GB/128GB variant. The AMOLED 120Hz screen is also commonplace 2020, as is a large battery with fast charging, and BBK Electronics the parent company of OnePlus/OPPO/Realme has phones with 50W charging already (Realme X2 Pro).
CashKaro also posted renders of the phone, but again, these appear to be nothing other than fan-made mockups.
17-year-old leaker Ishan Agarwal claims that the OnePlus 8 series will be launching sooner than expected with a late March or April launch.
@OnLeaks had claimed a February/March launch with a showcase at MWC, but now claims it has been delayed due to the Coronavirus, which seems likely, especially now that MWC is cancelled.
OnePlus 8 GeekBench Results
The latest leak does have some credibility to it though. This is from GeekBench and shows a device named GALILEI IN2023 being tested. A Weibo user named Digital chat station known for their leaks claims this is the OP8 device.
The OnePlus 8 Pro 5G appeared on China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) with a model number IN2010. Well, the IN2023 suggests another OnePlus phone, and based on reports, this is the OnePlus 8 Pro.
The phone scores an impressive 4296 for the single-core results and 12531 for multi-core using the older Geekbench 4.
Previously the Samsung Galaxy S20 with Snapdragon 865 was benchmarked on Geekbench but this was using the newer Geekbench 5 where it scored 923 and 3267 in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively.
As you would expect the phone was running Android 10 OS out of the box which will certainly also be using Oxygen OS baked on top of it.
