The Hoover 4-in-1 Corded Handheld UV Mattress Vacuum Cleaner is the latest launch from Hoover, and as the name suggests, this is a dedicated vacuum for cleaning your mattress and upholstery.

Apart from the handheld design it differs from the other Hoover models I have recently reviewed as it features a UV light to reduce bacteria, allergens and dust mites.

At £99, it is reasonably priced and more affordable than many of the well-reviewed alternatives.

As for alternative options, most cordless stick vacuums work well as a mattress vacuum, and many include attachments designed for this. For example, Hoover has various models that come with a Pet brush head that is designed to clean upholstery.

The Tineco Carpet One Pro Smart Carpet Cleaner has a hose attachment for wet/dry upholstery cleaning.

The incredibly expensive Vorwerk Kobold VK200 has a wide range of accessories, including a good-quality upholstery brush.
