Features

2-in-1 Mop & Vacuum

The Unlimited 7 Aqua’s standout feature is its 2-in-1 DynamicAqua Mop head, which allows users to vacuum and mop simultaneously, saving time and effort. The device offers strong suction for effective vacuuming and Power Spinning Pads for deep mopping, tackling both dust and stains in one go. For soft surfaces like carpets, mattresses, and sofas, users can switch to the AllFloor Dynamic Power Brush, which removes 99.9% of dirt and dust.

Cleans stubborn stains

The microfibre Power Spinning Pads on the Unlimited 7 Aqua can spin up to 200 times per minute (rpm), effectively removing tough stains. The soft fabric is gentle yet efficient, ensuring clean floors even on sensitive surfaces.

Automatic Water Supply

The Aqua head features a built-in pump that automatically supplies water to the rotating cleaning pads every 20 seconds, keeping them moist for thorough cleaning. The rotating pads use less water than a traditional mop, allowing floors to dry quickly. Users can adjust the water amount using the Water Control Button.

Flexible tube and 180° compact head

The Unlimited 7 Aqua’s flexible tube and 180° compact head enable users to clean under furniture, in corners, and along edges with ease. The vacuum can be attached to furniture or a chair’s back, freeing up hands to lift carpets or make room for thorough cleaning.

No dirty water

The vacuum channel in the head sucks up dry dirt into the dust box before the pads spin and remove hard stains, eliminating the need to empty a dirty water tank after cleaning. Users can add their preferred detergent to the water tank for enhanced cleaning power.

Washable and reusable pads

Four mopping pads are included with the Unlimited 7 Aqua and these can be washed in the washing machine at 40°C. It is recommend to replace these after 6 months of use.

Unboxing / Assembly

Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua Unboxing

The Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua comes well-packaged with all the necessary components and accessories. The assembly process is straightforward, with clear instructions provided in the user manual. Users can easily attach the various nozzles and brushes to the main unit, depending on their cleaning needs.

Mopping Performance

Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua Assembled

The mopping performance of the Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua is impressive. The Power Spinning Pads, combined with the adjustable water supply, allow for effective cleaning of both light and stubborn stains. The ability to switch between different water levels ensures that the mop can handle various floor types without leaving excess moisture behind. The pads’ continuous spinning action ensures that the floor is cleaned uniformly, leaving a polished finish.

Vacuum Performance

The vacuum performance is equally notable. The motorised floor head and adjustable floorhead make transitioning between carpets and hard floors seamless. The suction power is strong enough to pick up dust, pet hair, and other debris effectively. The HEPA filter is a valuable addition, especially for households with allergy sufferers, as it traps small particles and pet dander. The vacuum also comes with a range of nozzles, making it versatile for different cleaning tasks, from tight corners to upholstery.

Battery Life and Swappable Battery

The Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua’s battery life ranges from 10 to 40 minutes, depending on the power setting used. A full charge takes approximately 5 hours. While the battery life may seem short for extensive cleaning sessions, it is similar to most cordless vacuums.

One feature I really like is that this has a swappable battery, which can significantly extend the battery life.

Unlike competing brands such as Hoover or Tineco, which also have easy-to-access swappable batteries, the Bosch battery is a Power for All 18V battery which is typically used on power tools. One battery can work across 11 brands and over 100 devices. So, if you already use an 18V Bosh drill, you can use the battery from that and vice versa. Bosh has a handy compatibility guide here.

Price and Alternative Options

The Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua is available for £499.

Bosch sells several other versions of the Unlimited 7, but these lack the mopping function. The standard Unlimited 7 is available for £299, and the ProAnimal model is available for £399.

I am not aware of any product that directly competes with this.

The Philips PowerPro Aqua had a mopping attachment, but it wasn’t motorised like the Bosch.

The extremely expensive Vorwerk Kobold VK200 had a duo clean attachment, which had a mopping pad that you had to wet before use; it then vacuumed and buffed the floor.

Many robot vacuums work similarly. Cheaper models have a mopping attachment, but premium models like the Hobot Legee D8 Robot Vacuum have a water reservoir. The robot automatically raises and lowers the mop depending on its cleaning surface.

If you only have hard floors, you could get a cordless wet-dry vacuum. The Tineco Floor One S5 is well-reviewed and cheaper at £319. There is also the Shark HydroVac at £280.

Overall

I have reviewed many excellent robot vacuums, cordless vacuums and upright vacuums but we have never really found an ideal solution for mopping. Robot vacuums do an OK job at keeping on top of things, and some of the new premium options have impressive auto-empty, refill, clean and dry functions, but they tend to cost close to £1k.

There are well-reviewed cordless wet-dry vacuums, such as the Shark HydroVac, but these are not suitable for carpets.

Therefore, the Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua is an excellent versatile 2-in-1 vacuum and mop which has little to no direct competition. While it is less convenient than my automatic robot vacuums, the cleaning performance is superior, especially the mop.

The price is high, but you have two devices in one, which reduces the total cost of ownership and clutter from gadgets.

Overall, the Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua is a superb option for anyone that has mixed floors and needs superior mopping performance than a robot vacuum and mop.
