[Update] The Fenix 7 and Epix 2 product pages are now live on Garmin. You can even buy the Epix.

This news is not 100% confirmed, but Garmin Israel got a little click-happy when scheduling their Instagram posts and published news of a launch event happening on the 18th of January at 16:30 Israel time which is 14:30 UTC/GMT.

The announcement doesn’t specifically state that the Garmin Fenix 7 or Epix Gen 2 are being released, but these are the three devices we all expected to launch at CES. There have been many leaks for them, and we know they are basically ready to launch.

The announcement also states that this will be an international announcement.

Garmin Norway has also confirmed that there is an announcement being held at this time revealing the latest innovations from Garmin Outdoor. Again, no word on the device used, but the keynote speakers include the Vice President of the Outdoor Segment, Brad Trenkle.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but the marketing image used is a mountaineer, so it will not be some running or general fitness product.

At this point, it is almost certainly the Garmin Fenix 7 and the Epix Generation 2 launch. We are also expecting the Instinct 2 to launch at the same time.

  1. Why all the anticipation this past few months as if it were the second coming of Christ. … Unless they added an invisible cloak or something I’m keeping my Fenix 6x
    for a long while

    1. haha yeah, the hype can be a bit excessive especially when there isn’t a massive difference between generations.
