So far this year, I have reviewed the Flexispot Electric E5 Standing Desk and the Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro.
Recently, I have been trying out something more normal, an ergonomic office chair. FlexiSpot makes this in one colour, orange. It is quite a striking colour choice, and I personally like it, and this design decision may help the chair stand out from the very competitive market.

Set-Up
The Flexi-Chair Oka arrives disassembled in a box. It looks a bit intermediating to build at first, but after building a few gaming chairs, I am used to it, and the whole process was done in well under 30 mins.
You basically just need to screw the arms to the base, the back to the base, attach the gas lift to the bottom of the chair then slot it into the starred base. Finally, add the wheels.
I might be missing something, but the product page states a flip-up armrest. As far as I can tell, mine is a fixed position.
Comfort and Customisability
I am a bit fan of mesh chairs over the PVC covered memory foam used on gaming chairs. It is much more comfortable for long term use
Unlike my Herman Miller Mirra, the seat itself is padded, but then with the orange fabric cover. So it has slightly less breathability and heat management on the bottom. I can’t say this has been problematic, my office has been quite warm the past few weeks, and I have not felt myself feeling hotter or clammier than I would with my Mirra.
The overall comfort of the chair is excellent, much better than the gaming chairs I have tried. However, I would have liked adjustable arms, including the ability to rise/lower them, as this would have made getting the chair under my desk a bit easier.
Price and Alternative Options
The Flexi-Chair Oka Office Chair BS9 has an RRP of £299.99, which is quite expensive, but at the time of writing it has £80 off, taking it down to £219.99
Flexispot offers a 30-day risk-free return should you not like the chair – though you still need to return it in its original box, and you will be responsive for the return fee.
The Herman Miller Verus Triflex is the cheapest model Herman Miller, which starts at £310, but once you add arms and lumbar support, it goes up to about £380. With this on the market, I definitely don’t think the Flexi-Chair is worth its RRP.
Similarly, most other well known ergonomic office chair brands start off at £300+
Most of the random brand ergonomic mesh office chairs you see on Amazon are £100-200.
FlexiSpot Sale
Flexispot will be having a major sale in September where they will have flash deals for up to 35% off. This chair already has 26% off at the time of writing, so you might be able to get it closer to £200.
The sales start on the 6th of September and run through to the 13th.
Overall
The Flexi-Chair Oka Office Chair is an attractive and comfortable office chair. It feels well made, and I think it should last you a long time.
Even with a discount, this feels a little bit expensive. There are a lot of affordable office chairs on the market. Admittedly I would prefer to buy from a reputable brand such as FlexiSpot rather than all the random brands on Amazon. Conversely, FlexiSpot has priced themselves low enough (with a discount) that Herman Miller or other big brands names are not too tempting to buy over this.
Overall though, this is a good chair that is well worth consOverall though, this is a good chair that is well worth considering, and it would complement one of the Flexispot sit-stand desks very well.
