Following on from my review of the excellent Anker Prime 200W GaN Charging Station, I have been checking out the new Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger, which has the model number A2688.
The model number is important as it can get quite confusing with all the ambiguous product names companies like Anker and Ugreen use.
In the case of Anker, they currently have two new chargers with practically the same name:
- Anker Prime Charger (100W, 3 Ports, GaN): This is model number A2688 with an RRP of £69.99
- Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger (3 Ports): Model number A2343 with an RRP of £75.98.

As you can see, it is a bit more complicated than just looking at the price and power output. The A2688 looks better at first glance, but the A2343 has better compatibility with different charging rates.
Unboxing / Design
There is not a great deal to say about the design of a wall charger. The three main features worth highlighting are:
Foldable Design: The pins of the plug fold down flat inside the charger. This makes it ideal for travelling. My partner dropped an Anker charger on the floor in the past and broke the plastic grounding pin so this design would help reduce that risk.
Small Design: For a 100W USB-C wall charger, this is tiny and much smaller than any OEM one you will get with a laptop.
In Use
I have various devices that can take up to 100W, including the Anker 737 power bank, an EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max Portable Power Station, and the Zhiyun Molus X100, which takes up to 100W PD at full power.
With the Anker power bank connected and the Zhiyun, the devices showed 100W on the lights and 88W on the power bank. The lower reading on the power bank will be due to inefficiencies in charging the battery.
During my testing, the wall charger was able to deliver reliable power to my devices, and the performance correlated with the specification and the charger didn’t get noticeably too hot.
Price and Alternative Options
The Anker Prime Charger (100W, 3 Ports, GaN) has an RRP of £69.99, and until the 30th of August, you can get a 15% discount with the code Ankerprime02, taking the price down to £59.50.
Anker has other options, including:
- Anker Prime 100W GaN Wall Charger (A2343) has an RRP of £75.98
- Anker 737 Charger (GaNPrime 120W) for £70 RRP or regularly discounted to £50
The Ugreen Nexode 100W USB-C Charger is the best alternative with an RRP of £50 but it is available for just £35.
There is also the 3-port 100W Ugreen Nexode Pro, which has an RRP of £65 and is available for £50.
The main difference between the three are the dimensions and weight:
- The Anker A2688 measures 44.5 x 29 x 64.5 mm making it 83237.25 mm3
- The Anker A2343 measures 44 × 39 × 60.5 mm making it 103818 mm3 (25% larger than the A2688)
- The Anker 737 measures 43 × 32 × 80 mm making it 110080 mm3 (32% larger than the A2688)
- The Ugreen Nexode measures 70 × 50 × 50 mm making it 175000 mm3 (110% larger than the A2688)
- The Ugreen Nexode Pro measures 71 x 33 x 43mm making it 100749 mm3 (21% larger than the A2688)
Overall
The Anker Prime 100W A2688 GaN Wall Charger is a good wall charger that is best suited for people who need a high-quality, high-power charger when travelling or commuting.
That being said, plenty of 100W chargers are available at a lower price point, including the Anker 737 charger, which has a higher power output but is 32% larger and lacks the retractable pins.
Overall, if you want a 100W wall charger, then the Anker Prime A2688 isn’t the best value for money, but it is the best option for anyone who travels a lot as it is both considerably smaller and much less likely to get damaged.

Thank you!!
Returned the previous 2343 because of the plastic ground pin, and ordered the newer 2688 hoping it was metal (it was not); not just comparing the difference between the two to decide which one to keep.
It sucks the only metal pin I could find belonged to uGreen at 65W, need a 100W one that is compact.
