An entry-level gaming orientated chipset seems to be a contradiction in terms, but recently MediaTek unveiled the Helio G70, which is technically the same as the Helio P65 previously released.

Realme will be the first company to use this chipset with the Realme C3 which is set to arrive on the 6th of February, launching on the popular Indian platform, Flipkart.

The Helio G70 is based on two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz then six Cortex-A55 at 1.7GHz and a Mali-G52 GPU.

In comparison, the Realme C2 had a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset which had 8-core Cortex-A53 cores and a PowerVR GE8320, so the Realme C2 is receiving a massive upgrade.

Complimenting the new chipset the Realme C3 will feature either 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB for RAM/storage. It will also likely have a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Realme C3 will have a large 6.5″ waterdrop notch display which will be useful for gaming. There is no word on the resolution, but it is highly likely to be an HD+ panel.

The Realme C3 has a dual-camera setup on the back having a 12MP unit as the main sensor, but it is not known what the 2nd sensor is yet, it is likely a 2MP TOF/Depth sensor or a macro lens.

The phone will have a massive 5,000 mAh battery with Realme claiming it will offer 30 days standby, 43.9 hours of calls, 19.4 hours of music streaming, 20.8 hours of YouTube, or 10.6 hours of PUBG Mobile.

Realme have not launched any of the C series phones in the UK or Europe so I wouldn’t expect this to launch here any time soon.
