As TVs have got bigger, projectors have got smaller. The PIQO is a pico pocket projector that is capable of 1080p with built in Android Hi-Fi speaker, seamless Bluetooth pairing, offline storage, and an incredible 50 hours of battery life.
Within three days of its launch on Indiegogo, funding had already exceeded $100,000 —this amounts to over 1,000% of its goal.
PIQO isn’t just a standard dumb projector, it is has Android built into it giving you the access to all the apps you would find on your phone and streaming box such as the Nvidia Shield.
This includes app such as Netflix and YouTube giving you the opportunity to make an outdoor cinema when the weather is nice, for a romantic date or a fun BBQ.
It features 16GB storage just like other Android devices, so you can either download your Netflix content to your device or transfer movies you own from other sources.
It also works with screen mirroring services such as AirPlay, Miracast, and eShare, this makes it the perfect projector for presentations. No longer do you need to worry if the meeting room has a projector installed, you just carry it around with you.
You don’t have to worry about the speakers either as PIQO also have these built-in, the company claims that the PIQO’s surround-sound speaker booms with crystal clear Hi-Fi sound.
The battery should be good for the longest of movies giving you 5 hours of video and 50 hours of music playback, and you can of course plug it in if you need it for longer periods.
Key features include:
- Ultimate Portability: 2.25 in x 2.25 in x 2.25 in
- 1080p, 240 in, 200 lumen display
- Powered by Android – Netflix + YouTube anytime, anywhere
- 5 Hour Playtime Battery Life
- Intelligent Keystone Auto-Correction Projection
At the moment PIQO has received $483,458 USD raised by 1481 backers far exceeding their $10,000 goal.
You can pick up the PIQO on Indiegogo for a heavily discounted price of just $325+ shipping which is about £258 and the estimated delivery is March 2019.
