Design
The Edifier W800BT Pro headphones adopt a lightweight, foldable design, prioritising portability and daily usability. Available in multiple colours, including a special “Gift Edition” white with rose gold accents, the headphones cater to various style preferences.
The build primarily features plastic, which, while lightweight, may not feel as premium as metal-framed alternatives. However, the inclusion of soft memory foam ear pads provides excellent comfort for extended wear. One downside is that I found my ears became hot very quickly, this is common with over-ear headphones but these seemed a more prone to it than others.
Controls are straightforward, with a rocker switch for volume adjustment, a Bluetooth/power button, and a USB-C charging port.
Edifier ConneX App
These use the new ConneX app. It is marginally better than the older app and provides you with some basic but useful controls.
From here, youi can control the ANC, adjust the sound profile and switch sounds modes.
Sound Effects:
- Dynamic: Enhances mids and highs, making audio brighter while keeping bass balanced.
- Classic: Offers a more natural audio profile, suitable for most music genres.
- Custom EQ: The Edifier Connect app allows further audio fine-tuning for users with specific preferences.
Sound Quality
For their price point, the W800BT Pro delivers impressive audio quality. The headphones feature 40mm dynamic drivers with titanium-coated diaphragms, which contribute to a clear and balanced sound profile.
The bass response is punchy and well-defined without overpowering the mids and highs. This makes the W800BT Pro suitable for a wide range of music genres. The midrange is clear, allowing vocals and instruments to shine through in the mix. The high frequencies are crisp, providing good detail, though they can occasionally border on being slightly harsh at higher volumes.
The W800BT Pro also has a Hi-Res Audio certification when used in wired mode via the USB-C connection. This allows the headphones to reproduce frequencies up to 40kHz, potentially offering more detail for high-quality audio sources.
The soundstage is reasonably wide for closed-back headphones in this price range, providing a sense of space and instrument separation. However, it doesn’t quite match the expansive soundstage of some open-back designs or higher-end closed-back models.
It’s worth noting that the audio quality can be further tweaked using the Edifier Connect app, which offers various EQ presets and a customisable 4-band equaliser. This allows users to adjust the sound to their preferences or to suit different genres of music.
Active Noise Cancellation
Edifier may not compete with flagship ANC headphones from the likes of Bose and Sony, but their ANC technology on the more affordable models is impressive.
Doing my normal synthetic test, playing aeroplane cabin noise on my Edifier S3000 Pro speakers, the headphones did a surprisingly good job. It reduces the vast majority of the low and mid-range engine noise. This reduces the noise enough that you can listen to music or watch movies without having to crank up the volume too much.
For day-to-day use, the ANC is excellent; working in my office eliminates all ambient noise. With no audio playing, the only thing I can hear is the faint tapping noise of my mechanical keyboard.
Battery Life
The battery life is a strong point for the W800BT Pro. Edifier claims up to 45 hours of playback with ANC off, and around 26 hours with ANC on. In real-world testing, these figures prove to be fairly accurate, with the headphones easily lasting through several days of moderate use before needing a recharge.
A quick 10-minute charge provides about 5 hours of use, which is handy for those times when you’ve forgotten to charge the headphones and need a quick top-up before heading out.
The Edifier Connect app provides a battery level indicator, helping users keep track of when a recharge might be necessary.

Edifier W800BT Pro Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Headphones... | £39.99 | Buy on Amazon |
The Edifier W800BT Pro have an RRP of £50, but during the Black Friday period they dropped down to £40.
Edifier also has the Edifier W830NB, which is available for £60 at the time of writing; these offer better ANC, a longer batter, LDAC high res audio and more customisations in the Edifier app. These are definitely better, and at £60 they are affordable, but that’s still 50% more than the Black Friday pricing of the Edifier W800BT Pro.
The Edifier WH700NB are a touch cheaper at £38; they use the older Edifier app and high-resolution audio. I’d say the W800BT Pro is a better buy than these.
Other well-reviewed options at this price include:
- TOZO HT2 ANC Headphones for £50
- EarFun Wave Pro for £56
Overall
Edifier are always a safe choice for affordable headphones, and the Edifier W800BT Pro is no exception.
They offer good all-around performance at a great price. As long as you are not an audiophile, you should be happy with the sound quality. The ANC is particularly impressive at this price. Performance is excellent for day-to-day usage, and they perform well even in demanding environments like cabin noise in planes.
