The Canyon BTHS-3 Bluetooth headphones are the most affordable headphones I have reviewed in years, if not ever.

Due to the low price, I had low expectations for these headphones, but I was pleasantly surprised by the performance.

The headphones are basic, with options for black and beige. They have an OK build quality, which is to be expected at this price.

They feature a foldable design, making them easy to store and carry with you on the go. They shouldn’t take up much space in your bag or backpack. The headband is adjustable and reinforced with metal parts for added durability and a comfortable fit for various head sizes.

Soft, comfortable cushions cover the 40mm speakers, providing excellent sound isolation and a pleasant wearing experience even during extended listening sessions. The exterior has a streamlined, premium look and feel, showcasing the headphones’ quality construction.

All the controls are physical buttons, and they have sliding switches for power. I actually prefer this to touch-sensitive controls as they are less likely to be accidentally used. activate any of the controls.

Sound Quality

There are no fancy features with these headphones. No ANC and no companion app to adjust the EQ. So it is all about the out of box sound quality.

Thankfully, they sound pretty good for a pair of £23 headphones.

At first, I thought they were lacking in the bass but switching between genres revealed they were capable of producing deep punchy bass.

For some genres, like rock and punk music, they do sound a bit unbalanced. I think it is the mid-bass and low midrange that are slightly out of balance, but they are still enjoyable to listen to.

The higher frequencies are relatively recessed, which avoids sharpness but limits the amount of detail.

These are certainly not neutral headphones and have a warmer sound, which I would say is a preferable sound signature for headphones on the affordable end of the spectrum.

Overall, after listening to them for a few hours, I was quite impressed with the sound quality, and even though I have access to much better headphones, I would happily use these if needed.

With the Canyon BTHS-3, you can enjoy up to 15 hours of playtime on a single charge, making them ideal for long commutes, work days, or travel. The headphones also support quick charging, allowing you to get a few extra hours of playtime with just a short charging session.

I haven’t timed the battery, but I did use them for around 10 hours before charging and still had plenty of battery life left.

Price and Alternative Options

The Canyon BTHS-3 headphones are available from Game for just £23.

I don’t think I have reviewed any headphones this affordable before, so I don’t have any personal recommendations I can make as an alternative.

I previously reviewed the OneOdio A30 and thought they were good at £42 but these are no longer available.

At the time of writing, the OneOdio A70 is priced at £34 with the 15% voucher available from Amazon and have excellent reviews on Amazon.

I recently reviewed a few Tozo earbuds and found them to be excellent. The well-received Tozo HT2 headphones cost £50. They benefit from ANC and the Tozo app for EQ adjustments.

The Canyon BTHS-3 wireless headphones are excellent value for money.

They are certainly not the best headphones I have used, but they are much better than the £23 price tag suggests.

Considering the price and their listing on Game, they seem to be targeted at a younger generation, and I think they are well suited to this audience.

The compact design and low price also make these handy to travel with. I can throw them in my bag and not worry about them too much.
