A leak for the Xiaomi Mi 9 has been posted on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo which is often the source of most phone leaks. This is a unverified leak so take everything with a pinch of salt.

The new addition to the Xiaomi Mi has significant upgrades and combined with a relatively low price point of CNY 2,999, or less than £345/$440. The price would be higher than this if and when it is launched in the UK.

As you would expect for a flagship launching in 2019 (except the Nokia 9) this will feature the Snapdragon 855 SoC however it will only have the
Snapdragon X24 LTE modem meaning it will not be 5G compatible, albeit still very fast.

The upcoming flagship will reportedly have a triple-optics solution, with the main one being the Sony Exmor IMX586 48MP camera, coupled with a 12MP secondary camera. The second sensor should be used for capturing images with lossless zoom. The third lens is believed to be a time-of-flight camera (ToF camera) which will be used for depth sensing and augmented reality.

It is listed as coming with a 3,500mAh battery that is compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 at 32W.

The phone should be running Android 9 Pie and MIUI 10 out of the box.

The base model is expected to come with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory with the phone expecting to launch toward the end of March.
