Today, Xiaomi was the first company to launch a phone with the brand new affordable 5G chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 750G. Priced at just 279-Euros, this is incredible value for money.

The chipset inside the Xiaomi should trade blows with its bigger, more expensive brother the SD765G thanks to the implementation of the new Arm Coretex A77 cores.
Mediatek has confirmed a phone will be launched in the EU using the Dimensity 800 chipset this week. The likely candidate is the OPPO Reno4 series, which already has the Reno4 Z using that chipset in Taiwan.
There is no word on the pricing of the OPPO in the UK, but it will hopefully be competitive.
This should be the start of a new wave of affordable 5G phones being launched.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G vs Mediatek Dimensity 800
CPU
The new Snapdragon 750G is basically just a Snapdragon 690 with higher frequencies, both of these chipsets offer the latest Arm Coretex A77 CPU cores.
Mediatek adopts an older CPU architecture but uses more of a flagship layout of 4×4.
- Snapdragon 750G
- 2x Cortex-A77@ 2.2GHz
- 6x Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz
- Mediatek Dimensity 800

GPU
The GPU is harder to compare,
The Qualcomm has a Adreno 619 GPU which claims to offer +10% performance over the 730G, so good but not amazing.
The Dimensity has ARM Mali-G57 MC4 GPU
Benchmarks – Antutu and Geekbench
The OPPO A92S, which is the same as the Reno4 Z is claimed to achieve 325776 in Antutu.
Then in the older V4 GeekBench test is achieved 2504 in the single-core test and 8130 in the multi-core test. This put it a little behind the SD765G on the single core test, but ahead of it on the multi-core.
An early leak for the SD750G using the new V5 Geekbench indicated is achieved scores in the region of 650 and 1900 on Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests respectively. Which a little higher than the SD765G overall.
Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite vs OPPO Reno4 5G
While I have no idea if OPPO will actually launch a Reno4 5G tomorrow, I can compare the Mi 10T to the existing Reno4 Z 5G
Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite | OPPO Reno4 5G | |
---|---|---|
Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G | Mediatek Dimensity 800 |

Front Camera | 16MP in-display front camera | 16MP in-display front camera 2MP depth (pill shaped cutout) |
Battery | 4820mAh | 4000 mAh |

Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite will retail for just 279-Euros so around £250 which is a stonking good deal.
Assuming OPPO does announce a 5G Reno4 I would expect it to cost more; they tend to not be as price-competitive as their affordable sibling, Realme
