Nothing new was announced at this morning Reno4 series launch event, the Reno4 series had already been announced, and even the pricing was revealed early via Amazon.

However, they are now official, and we have three new semi-affordable 5G phones in the UK.

The star of the show, in my opinion, is the  Oppo Reno4 Z, being the one phone that brings something new to the table.

As usual with Oppo and their weird naming conventions, originally the Reno branding was to be ditched in favour of the Find X series, so the Reno3 became Find X2. Now it looks like they changed their minds and moved back to Reno. I am sure they will do another U-turn for the next generation.

Oppo Reno4 Z

OPPOReno4 Z Lifestyle 2

Priced at just £329 it is one of the most affordable 5G phones on the market, the Mediatek Dimensity 800 chipset should offer comparable performance to the Snapdragon 765G found on the more expensive models.

  • Display: 6.57 inches, 2400×1080, 120Hz
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G
  • Rear Camera: 48MP 1/2.0″ primary lens, 8MP ultra wide, 2MP depth
  • Selfie Camera: 16 MP, 2MP depth
  • Battery: 4000 mAh
  • Charging: 18W

Oppo Reno4 5G

OPPOReno4 Lifestyle 2

Priced at just £499, OPPO will likely be hoping that the superior specs of the Reno4 5G will persuade people to buy this phone over the just launched Google Pixel 5.

  • Display: 6.43 inches, 2400×1080 AMOLED display
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G
  • Rear Camera: 48MP 1/2.0″ primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth
  • Selfie Camera: 32MP wide lens, 2MP depth with a pill-shaped cutout
  • Battery: 4000 mAh
  • Charging: 65W

Oppo Reno4 Pro 5G

Lifestyle3 Reno4 Pro

The Oppo Reno4 Pro 5G has one of the most impressively specced cameras I have seen at this price point so will make an excellent choice for people with demanding camera requirements. It is worth noting that there is very little difference between this and the Oppo Find X2 Neo 5G which is £599 but has a lower specced ultra-wide camera and slower charging.

  • Display: 6.55 inches AMOLED, 2400×1080, 90HZ
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 765G
  • Rear Camera: 48MP 1/2.0″ primary lens, 13MP telephoto lens, 12MP ultra-wide
  • Selfie Camera: 32MP
  • Battery: 4000 mAh
  • Charging: 65W
