Linksys has announced the launch of its first WiFi 7 mesh system for the home – the Linksys Velop Pro 7. This new system promises lightning-fast speeds and a hassle-free setup process that takes just 10 minutes. The Velop Pro 7 is purpose-built for WiFi 7, the latest and most efficient WiFi standard to date. It utilises the new 6GHz band to reduce interference and can achieve wireless speeds up to 5 times faster than WiFi 6.
While Netgear has chosen to launch the ultra-premium Orbi 970 Series WiFi 7 Mesh System, which starts at £1600 for a two-pack, Linksys have chosen a more balanced specification, allowing them to achieve a more attractive price point that’s less than half of the Netgear 2-pack system at £750.

Lightning-fast Setup: A Game Changer in Home Connectivity
The Velop Pro 7 utilizes the cutting-edge Qualcomm Networking Pro 620 platform to deliver the benefits of WiFi 7. This includes up to 4.8x faster speeds than WiFi 6, ultra-low latency, and increased bandwidth.
It also supports advanced features like Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which provides link aggregation and failover like wired networks. This results in incredibly stable and reliable WiFi connections across the mesh network.
Jeevan Patil, Vice-President of Experience at Linksys, observes, “The average household today has at least 10 connected devices. With Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) becoming increasingly prevalent across home security, work, and entertainment solutions, the Linksys Velop Pro 7, our most advanced mesh system yet, opens the door to harness next-generation technology without compromise.”
Experience the Power of WiFi 7
The Velop Pro 7 is purpose-built for WiFi 7, the most efficient WiFi operating mode to date. With speeds up to 5x faster than WiFi 6, it transmits information lightning-fast over stable connections at very low latency – delivering a flawless streaming, collaboration, or gaming experience.
Sensible Specification for Affordability
Companies like Netgear have announced ultra-expensive solutions that have the best specifications possible. Linksys has toned down the spec to keep this system relatively affordable.
It is a tri-band system, which means it will require to share the backhaul channel with the client data, and it utilises 2×2+2×2+2×2 MU‑MIMO rather than a 4×4 design.
For the Ethernet ports, you have gigabit ports on the LAN and 2.5 GbE WAN.
Complete Whole-Home Coverage
The modular Velop Pro 7 system can be flexibly configured to match the size of your home. Each node covers up to 3,000 sq ft and supports over 200 connected devices. The 1-node pack is ideal for small homes or apartments up to 3,000 sq ft. The 2-node pack covers up to 6,000 sq ft for medium-sized homes, while the 3-node pack blankets up to 9,000 sq ft for large houses. Additional nodes can be added at any time for expanded coverage as needed. The system intelligently meshes the nodes together into one unified network.
Aesthetically Pleasing Design

The Velop Pro 7 is a part of the Linksys Designer Series and sports a sleek, modern “droplet” design that is both aesthetic and functional. The Designer Series reinvents the concept of home connectivity with tastefully designed products that deliver speed, stability, and reliability, all backed by a three-year warranty.
Ganesh Swaminathan, Vice President and General Manager, Wireless Infrastructure and Networking, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said, “We are excited to collaborate with Linksys to bring this game-changing technology to consumers with the Velop Pro 7 powered by the Qualcomm Networking Pro 620 Platform. Delivering next-gen WiFi 7 features today, it is an ideal solution for home mesh systems where the growing ecosystem of mobile, compute and XR devices built on the Qualcomm® FastConnect 7800 will benefit from elevated WiFi 7 wireless experiences.”
Built for the Future
The Velop Pro 7 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Networking Pro 620 Platform. This advanced platform offers wire-like stability and performance and is capable of Multi-Link Operation (MLO), delivering services like link aggregation and link failover that are common in wired networks.
Eco-friendly Packaging
The packaging for the Velop Pro 7 is made from 65% recycled material and is fully recyclable, marking a step forward in Linksys’ continuous efforts to minimise its impact on the planet.
Pricing and Availability
The Linksys Velop Pro 7 is now available in the US on Linksys.com and Best Buy. It will be available in the UK mid-November from Amazon.co.uk and other select retail partners.
