Infinix has officially launched its new NOTE 50 Series, positioning it as a key advancement in what the company calls the “Generation Beta” era. The series includes the NOTE 50, NOTE 50 Pro, and the flagship NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G, with two additional 5G models planned for future release.
The new range combines artificial intelligence capabilities, premium materials, and advanced camera technology to create what Infinix describes as a “true flagship” experience. With prices starting at $180 for the base model and rising to $370 for the Pro+ 5G variant, the company is targeting the mid-range smartphone market with features typically found in more expensive devices.
Premium Materials and Design

The NOTE 50 Series marks a departure from typical mid-range smartphone construction by featuring what Infinix calls a “true-metal frame” design. According to the company, this makes it the first smartphone under $500 to use such materials.
The frame is constructed from “ArmorAlloy” – a proprietary blend of Damascus steel and aerospace-grade aluminium – which aims to balance durability with aesthetics. The manufacturing process employs “HyperCasting” technology, a one-piece die-casting method inspired by automotive design principles.
For additional protection, the phones incorporate a “ShockAbsorb” buffer system that has received TÜV SÜD certification for drop resistance. Despite the metal construction, Infinix claims the design doesn’t compromise signal reception, with the NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G featuring a “5.5G Open-Air Network Structure” to enhance connectivity performance.
The series is available in several colour options, including Titanium Grey and Enchanted Purple. A special Racing Edition features tri-colour stripes and an embedded sapphire crystal in the power button for a more distinctive look.

AI Capabilities
Central to the NOTE 50 Series is Infinix’s AI platform, which the company has branded as “Gen Beta.” This represents the brand’s strategic move toward AI-powered functionality across its product range.
The most notable AI feature is “One-Tap Infinix AI∞,” which allows users to activate the company’s AI assistant, called Folax, by long-pressing the power button. According to Infinix, Folax can:
- Recognise on-screen content
- Retrieve information instantly
- Translate text
- Provide Q&A functionality
- Identify text, images, videos, and live camera views
For content creators, the system offers AI Eraser and AI Cutout for photo editing, along with AI Writing, AI Note, and AI Wallpaper Generator. Communication features include Real-Time Call Translator, Call Summary, AI Auto-Answer, and Speech Enhancement.
Privacy features include AI Mosaic, which automatically detects and conceals sensitive personal information in documents and images.
Camera System
The camera capabilities of the NOTE 50 Series, particularly in the Pro+ 5G model, represent a significant focus area for Infinix. The flagship model features:
- A 50MP OIS main camera using the Sony IMX896 sensor
- A 50MP OIS periscope telephoto lens with 6X lossless zoom and up to 100X digital zoom
- An 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 112° field of view
- A 32MP front-facing camera
The periscope lens is particularly noteworthy, as such technology is typically found in premium flagship devices from established brands. Infinix claims this allows users to capture detailed long-range photos while maintaining a slim device profile.
Additional camera features include an “Instant Double-Tap” mode for quick access to Street Mode even when the screen is off, and AI-enhanced RAW processing for improved low-light and backlit photography. The NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G can record video at up to 4K 60FPS with what the company describes as “cinematic effects.”
Battery and Charging
The NOTE 50 Series introduces what Infinix calls “All-Round FastCharge3.0” technology. The NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G features:
- 100W wired charging with three selectable modes:
- Hyper mode: Full charge in 32 minutes
- Smart mode: Balanced charging for daily use
- Low-Temperature mode: Safer charging in extreme conditions
- A 5200mAh Silicon-Carbon battery
- AI battery management via the Cheetah X2 chip
- PowerReserve mode providing 2.2 hours of talk time or 30 minutes of navigation at 1% battery
- 10W wired and 7.5W wireless reverse charging
Infinix claims the battery will maintain at least 80% of its original capacity even after prolonged use, addressing a common concern about battery degradation over time.
Performance and Connectivity
The NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipset, built on a 4nm process. This octa-core processor features four Cortex-A715 cores running at up to 3.35GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores at up to 2.2GHz, paired with a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU.
Memory configurations include 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage and 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, with an additional 12GB of extended RAM available.
Connectivity options include:
- 5.5G/5G/4G/3G/2G network compatibility
- Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)
- Bluetooth 5.4
- NFC
- USB Type-C
- Infrared blaster
Infinix claims the 5.5G technology boosts download speeds by 200% compared to standard 5G, while Super WiFi 2.0 enhances Wi-Fi performance by 606%. The system intelligently selects the best network connection and reduces energy consumption by 11%.
Display and Audio
The NOTE 50 Series features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with:
- FHD+ resolution (1080 × 2436 pixels)
- 144Hz refresh rate
- Up to 1300 nits peak brightness
- 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut
- TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification
- 240Hz touch sampling rate (up to 2160Hz instant touch sampling)
The display is complemented by a “Bio-Active Halo AI lighting system” that provides visual notifications. The Pro+ and Pro models feature multi-colour mini-LED effects for calls, notifications, and charging status, while the standard model uses a simpler single-colour white light.
Audio is handled by dual JBL-tuned speakers with Hi-Res Audio and DTS certification.
Health Monitoring
In an unusual move for a smartphone in this price range, the NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G includes integrated health monitoring capabilities. Users can place their finger on a rear sensor to measure:
- Blood oxygen levels
- Heart rate
These measurements are displayed in the My Health app and can be accessed via a pull-down menu or through voice commands to the Folax AI assistant.
Software and User Experience
The NOTE 50 Series runs on XOS 15, Infinix’s custom Android-based operating system. Gaming features include:
- XBOOST AI game engine with one-click access to E-Sports Mode
- Selectable power modes (power-saving, balanced, performance)
- Multitasking features like memory cleaning and call rejection during gameplay
- Voice changing for in-game communication
The cooling system includes a vapour chamber and super graphite layer to manage heat during intensive tasks, while an X-axis linear motor provides haptic feedback.
Pricing and Availability
The Infinix NOTE 50 Series is priced as follows:
- NOTE 50: Starting at $180
- NOTE 50 Pro: Starting at $210
- NOTE 50 Pro+ 5G: Starting at $370
Availability will vary by region, with the company noting that prices may differ based on local markets.
Whether these devices can compete with offerings from more established brands will depend not just on specifications and pricing, but also on factors like software support, build quality, and real-world performance. As the devices become available in various markets, users will be able to determine if Infinix has successfully delivered on its promise of a “true flagship” experience at a more accessible price point.
