Best Air Fryer in the UK for 2020

Air fryers are the new slow cookers for popular kitchen tech in 2020. They offer an easy to use healthier way of cooking, giving you a fried-like cook with a fraction of the oil, less mess, and less smell.

Technically, they are just small fan assisted electric ovens, but the results do seem to be superior to throwing your chips in the oven. The smaller nature of these also means they are a little more friendly on your electricity bill.

The market has boomed in recent years, there are dozens of brands on Amazon, many of them random brands, and many others from well known big brand names.

So what are the best options for different requirements and different budgets?

Best Affordable Air Fryer

Cosori Air Fryer from £79.99

You really don’t need to spend a lot of money on an air fryer, I reviewed the Cosori previously and I still use it to this day. The 3.5L capacity is great for a small family or couple, and it doesn’t take up too much room. This model regularly drops down to £69.99

Best Large Air Fryer

Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Dual Zone, 7.6 Litre from £179

Most brands do 5.5L or 6L models but only Ninja going up to 7.6L. It is so big they have separated it into two zones with two trays allowing you to cook different things without mixing them up. The only downside is if you cook things that are particularly large it may not fit in one of the trays. You could alternatively get the 7.5L multi-cooler with 9 cooking functions including air frying.

Best Small Air Fryer

Philips Air Fryer from £129

I can’t do a best of air fryers post without including at least one Philips device. They are the most popular brand in the market and extraordinarily well-reviewed. This has three models with the smallest being perfect for one or two people.

I have always found the Ninja range of products to be excellent, they are more premium products priced accordingly without getting ridiculously expensive.

The Ninja Foodi Mini Multi-Cooker comes in sizes from 4.7L to a massive 7.5L with 6 to 9 different functions. This is basically a pressure cooker, air fryer and slow cooker all in one.

I am a big fan of both air fryers and pressure cookers, so have one good quality device vs two is a big bonus, saving cupboard space too.

I was inclined to give the Ninja Foodi Mini Multi-Cooker the best of award, but I have already listed them twice, and it is a multi-cooker rather than just air fryer.

The Tefal ActiFry Genius is arguably better at air cooking; unlike all the other models in the list, this has a stirring paddle providing you with an even cook without having to shake the tray yourself.

For those really short on time, this has a handy 1-meal-in-1-go programs let you add all your ingredients at once and make a full meal in one step
