  • LiDAR navigation for whole home cleaning
  • Mopping functionality with no mop zones

The AIRROBO T10+ is a high spec, low price robot vacuum. This has pretty much all the features you could want from a robot vacuum, LiDAR navigation, vacuuming and mopping with no go and no mop zones, a long lasting battery and a self empty station.

It is also one of the cheapest options on the market with all those features. But how good is it?

Set Up – Tuya

Like most affordable smart home tech from Chinese companies, this is reliant on the Tuya app. Some companies tweak the app and rebrand it under their own name, but its still essentially the same.

AIRROBO T10+ uses the actual Tuya app. Set up was quite easy, but the instructions didn’t exactly match what you needed to do. However, the instructions made more sense than the Neatsvor X600 Pro.

Once you have signed up for the Tuya app, you will need to:

  • Select add a new device using the plus sign in the upper right
  • Select small home appliances and scroll down to Robot Vacuum (Wi-Fi)
  • Provide the password for the 2.4Ghz WiFI SSID. If you are connected to a 5Ghz network you will need to switch over.
  • Place the vacuum into the setup process/reset its WiFi/or just confirm the lights are blinking
  • You will need to select AP mode
  • Then you go to connect it should be an open WiFi name beginning with SL-
  • It should then all pair easily

LiDAR Mapping

This uses LiDAR for mapping and navigation. It does have a small cut out on the front of the vacuum which looks like it might be used for VSLAM, but as far as I can tell, this is not the case.

The mapping works well, the vacuum seemed to create an accurate map on the first use, it also managed to not get stuck on anything during this process. The robot also has cliff detection and has managed to avoid falling down a step into our porch.

The robot will intelligently create rooms that you can then name. I found that larger irregular shaped rooms would get classed as two rooms, but this is fine with me, and you can merge rooms if you want.

You can set up no go zones and no mopping zones. Surprisingly I have found that I haven’t needed to rely on no go zones yet. My Ecovacs Deebot N8 would get stuck on a clothes drying rack in my front room, but this hasn’t yet.

Cleaning and Self Empty

The T10+ comes with automatic dirt disposal charging base, which empties the dustbin at 26KPa suction level with over 98% efficiency. It uses 3.3L allergy-friendly disposable dust bag stores dirt up to 45 days before you have to manually toss it.

The vacuum itself has a 300ml dustbin which is very small, but it is enough to clean my house daily before it goes back to the charging dock to empty itself.

I always have my robot vacuums on a schedule so I have found it easy to forget to empty them. Most of them have quite small dust compartments, so in a large house, you need to be emptying it every few days.

Therefore the self emptying feature of this is a major selling point to me.

The way it docks to the self empty station is different to what I have used before. I previously tried out the Yeedi Vac Station; this rolls up onto a charging base that is similar to most normal robot vacuums, with the charging points on the base. The dirt is then sucked down through the bottom then into the station.

With the AIRROBO T10+, there is no base for it to roll up onto, it just sort of docks at the self empty station where you can see the large suction hole. The charge points are on the front of the robot as it docks.

I was sceptical of how well this would work, I felt like it would inevitably leave a mess on the floor. However, so far, it has worked perfectly with no debris on the floor at all.

General cleaning performance has been good, the maximum suction is 2600 Pa, which is on the higher end for the vacuums I have reviewed. The robot will automatically change the suction when it detects carpet, which works well. With the robot comfortably covering my home one charge, I ended up setting the suction level to max on the scheduled clean.

Mopping

Like many robot vacuums nowdays, this can also mop your floor.  This has a proper water tank that can hold 300ml of water and the robot can control when this is on. This, therefore, allows you to set up no mop zones.

In comparison, the Trifo Lucy had a 100ml capacity, and this was just a gravity fed dumb mop, which doesn’t really work for my home.

In my house the kitchen is a hard floor but living areas carpeted, so the no mopping zones are essential for me.

Mopping performance is OK, at the end of the day it just gently wiping a wet cloth across the floor. It will get light marks off the floor and help keep on top of things.

Battery

In my house, the robot consistently records around 53m3 and a run time of 50 minutes to 1 hour, which covers 4 large rooms. It is claimed the max run time is 250mins, which should cover the largest of properties.

When the robot returns to charge, the self empty station has a LED display which gives you an indication of the charge.

Price and Alternative Options

The AIRROBO T10+ is available from Amazon UK for £399.99 and at the time of writing there is a £60 off voucher taking it down to £340.

It is then available from Amazon US for $499.99 but with $140 off, so $360.

You can buy it directly from AIRROBO for £349.99 or $349.99 for US buyers.

The Ecovacs DEEBOT N8+ is currently priced at £449

iRobot Roomba j7+ is £780

The Ultenic T10 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is currently £399

The Proscenic M8 PRO is currently £374.25 but this discount ends in a few days and the RRP is £499

Overall

I have been very impressed with the AIRROBO T10+ so far. The mapping and cleaning performance has been just as good as my Ecovacs Deebot N8 and I love that I don’t have to clean out the robot every few days thanks to the self emptying station.

Pricing is perhaps the most appealing part of the AIRROBO T10+. For around £340 this is the cheapest self-emptying robotic vacuum I can find at the time of writing.
