Acer Unveils 57 inch Predator Z57 4K Mini LED Monitor

Continuing the Acer product launches at CES, they have announced an expansion of its Predator gaming monitor lineup with four new premium models featuring large curved displays, advanced display technologies, and smooth performance aimed at hardcore gamers.

Flagship 57-inch Predator Z57 4K Mini LED


The flagship of the range is the massive 57-inch Predator Z57, which uses Mini LED backlight technology with 2304 dimming zones to achieve impressive brightness and contrast. It has a cutting-edge dual UHD (7680 x 2160) resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate, allowing it to render fast motion smoothly without ghosting or blurring.

According to Acer, the 32:9 super ultrawide aspect ratio and 1000R curvature draws the user closer into the content and increases immersion. The Predator Z57 meets the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 standard with up to 1000 nits peak brightness and DCI-P3 98% wide colour gamut coverage for realistic and vibrant visuals.

Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 ports to support the latest games consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X at up to 4K 120fps. The stand offers height, tilt and swivel adjustment while the monitor is also VESA mount compatible for wall mounting.

34-inch Predator X34 V3 Ultrawide QHD Mini LED


Joining the Z57 is the new 34-inch Predator X34 V3, which shares many of the same technologies but has a 21:9 ultrawide QHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and 1500R curvature. The refresh rate is 180Hz with a 1ms GtG response time.

According to Acer, the X34 V3 utilizes Mini LED backlighting capable of VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, wide DCI-P3 94% colour gamut, and high peak brightness levels to showcase games with incredible dynamic range and realistic colours. It also has HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity with height/tilt/swivel stand adjustment.

Fast OLED Displays for Competitive Gamers


Rounding out the lineup are two new OLED models sporting the Predator X39 with a 39-inch diagonal and Predator X34X at 34 inches. Both monitors have a UWQHD 3440 x 1440 resolution and are capable of 240Hz refresh rates with extremely fast 0.01ms GtG response times, making them well-suited to competitive esports gaming where lag and ghosting need to be minimized.

The OLED panels offer wide 178-degree viewing angles with deep blacks and vibrant colour reproduction covering 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut. HDR content is supported through VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. The curved 800R design aims to increase immersion along with AMD FreeSync Premium anti-tearing technology.

As with the other new Predator monitors in this range, the OLED models have a USB-C port with 90W power delivery for charging devices and a built-in KVM switch to easily toggle between two input sources.

All Models Pack Gamer-Focused Features

In the press release, Acer highlights gaming-centric features found across all the new Predator monitors including fast refresh rates from 120Hz up to 240Hz, curved screen designs for immersion, and AMD FreeSync Premium support for smooth variable refresh rate gameplay.

The new monitors also come equipped with 2W or 5W stereo speakers for audio playback, USB-C ports for simultaneous video, data and charging, and integrated KVM switches to easily switch between two connected PCs using the same mouse, keyboard and headphones.

Premium Gaming Displays Command Premium Pricing

As expected for such high-spec monitors using the latest display technologies, Acer has set premium price points on the new Predator models. Specific pricing will vary by region, but the company shared the following guidance:

  • Predator Z57 – Starts at $2,499 in North America / €2,399 in EMEA
  • Predator X39 – Starts at $1,499 in North America / €1,499 in EMEA
  • Predator X34X – Starts at $1,299 in North America / €1,299 in EMEA
  • Predator X34V3 – Starts at $899 in North America / €849 in EMEA

The new monitors are scheduled to launch in Q2 2024 globally. Gamers will have to pay a premium for these best-in-class displays offering the latest in display technology paired with gaming-centric features. Those wanting to experience Mini LED and OLED will have several new Predator options pick from later this year.
