If you are an Apple Mac user or have a PC with Thunderbolt3 and require lots of data storage then the new TerraMaster TD2 could be the perfect option.
This direct-attached storage features a Thunderbolt3 port allowing it to offer connectivity that surpasses other USB equipped counterparts.
I previously reviewed the excellent 5-bay TerraMaster D5-300C but this offers far more functionality, albeit in a 2-bay system.
Similar to the other DAS drives from TerraMaster, you have the option to run your two drives in either RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD, and Single mode. All of which are enable via a small switch on the rear with no software or set up process.
Unlike the D5-300C I reviewed, this offers more than a single USB port. Thanks to the 40 Gbps bandwidth TB3 has the TD2 also boasts a DisplayPort that can support up a single 8K display or dual 4K display. You then also get a Gigabit LAN port, and two USB 3.1 Host ports.
The LAN port is for adding ethernet to the device it is connected to. So perfect for many slim laptops that lack an ethernet port.
The TerraMaster TD2 Thunderbolt3 Plus offers speeds of up to 800MB/s, 50% faster than its predecessor.
The TerraMaster TD2 Thunderbolt3 Plus is available now from TerraMaster, and should be available soon from Amazon.
