I have reviewed a few wireless charging stations over the years. Originally with the Choetech MFi Apple Watch Wireless Charger and more recently with the STM Goods ChargeTree Go.
The ESR 6-in-1 Apple-Certified MagSafe charger is the latest charge station I have been sent and the most versatile charging solution for Apple devices I have reviewed yet.
It features three separate magnetic wireless charging modules for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, along with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port for charging additional devices. The charger has a 100W output, allowing users to charge up to six Apple devices simultaneously. It uses GaN technology, which has become the go-to technology for power delivery chargers as it improves efficiency and minimises bulk.
Specification & Features
The ESR 6-in-1 charger is a power-packed accessory equipped with MagSafe and GaN technology. With a maximum total output of 100W, it is capable of charging up to six devices simultaneously. The charger features three separate magnetic wireless charging modules for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, plus two USB-C and one USB-A ports.
The unique aspect of this charger is its innovative CryoBoost cooling technology, which ensures your devices remain cool while charging. This feature, combined with the smart power distribution system, makes the ESR 6-in-1 an impressive charging solution.
Price & Availability
The ESR 6-in-1 charging station is currently available on Kickstarter for backers, with an expected retail price of $179. However, early birds can secure it for a discounted price of $154.
Kickstart orders should be shipping now (September).
The charger is set to be released on Amazon in October.
Design & Build Quality
The ESR 6-in-1 charger impresses with its sleek design and superior build quality. Its matte white plastic body with a silver metallic accent adds a touch of sophistication, blending seamlessly with your Apple devices. Despite its somewhat bulky appearance, its size is justified, considering the multitude of features it offers.
The charging station is constructed using high-quality materials, including polycarbonate, ABS, and aluminium alloy, ensuring durability and longevity. The design includes a blue LED indicator and a built-in fan situated behind the iPhone MagSafe charger. The charger has a firm base with rubber pads to ensure stability.
The 6-in-1 design consists of:
- 15W Made for MagSafe iPhone Charging Pad, which has an active cooling fan on the rear called CryoBoost
- 5W Made for Apple Watch Charging Pad
- 5W AirPods Magnetic Charging Pad
- 2 x 100W USB-C ports which can do 100W on with a single port or split across two ports (eg 65W + 35W)
- 1x 5W USB-A USB-C
The charger then has an AC power input, which uses a figure of eight (IEC C7) power cable. This cable has a long lead, so it is easy to plug it into any plug socket.
Then, on the front of the charger is an AirPods Charging Status Light, and there is a button that sits in front of the AirPod charging pad, which is used to disable/enable the CryoBoost fan.
Performance
In terms of performance, the ESR 6-in-1 charger delivers on its promise of high-speed charging. Its Apple-certified MagSafe iPhone charger offers 15W of power, ensuring rapid charging. The charger’s smart power distribution system intelligently allocates power to the connected devices, ensuring optimal charging efficiency.
The two USB-C ports offer PD 3.1 fast charging, making it an excellent choice for devices like the MacBook Air.
However, the 100W maximum output does mean this isn’t powerful enough to charge all Apple laptops. The 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later) requires a 140W USB-C power delivery input. All models smaller than this should be fine.
The additional USB-A port provides further versatility but is limited to just 5W output. I’d therefore, only use this to charge things like wearables, and I have used it to charge my Garmin Epix Gen 2.
CryoBoost Active Cooling
A standout feature of the ESR 6-in-1 charger is its CryoBoost cooling technology. The built-in fan ensures effective heat dissipation, keeping your devices cool while charging. This feature should enhance the charging efficiency and potentially extend your devices’ lifespan by preventing overheating.
Considering the iPhone only charges at 15W, it shouldn’t have too many issues with overheating, even when the fan is turned off. I can’t say I have ever noticed this as a problem with this charger or other Magsafe chargers.
However, I have seen reports online of iPhones overheating, and some people have suggested that phone cases and using the iPhone while wireless charging can cause this. So, the active cooling is a nice additional feature to have, even though I switched it off for most of the time I used the charger.

While the ESR 6-in-1 charger offers notable features and performance, there are alternative MagSafe multi-chargers in the market, but I am not aware of any that can compete with the overall number of output and power delivery output.
ESR has its own 3-in-1 Charger Stand for Magsafe (HaloLock) but this lacks any USB output. This is priced at £60 on Amazon.
Anker has a 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe priced at £150
The Belkin BoostCharge PRO 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is £120

UGREEN MagSafe Charger Wireless Charging Station Nexode 100W... | £99.99 | Buy on Amazon |
Perhaps the closest competitor is the recently launched Ugreen Nexode 100W USB C Charger with MagSafe. This has 100W USB-C, just like the ESR, but it is a 4-in-1 charger with just one MagSafe wireless charger. It has an RRP of £180, but it is available for £130 with the on-page voucher.
Overall
The ESR 6-in-1 Apple-Certified MagSafe charger is an excellent charge station for anyone who is heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem.
It is a perfect addition to your office desk, allowing you to charge your phone, watch, earbuds, and it can power any laptop that accepts USB-C power delivery. The one exception would be the 16-inch MacBook Pro wouldn’t be able to receive its full 140W input.
There are smaller and more discrete charge stations out there, which may be more suitable for things like bedside tables, but this is definitely the option I’d choose for my office table.
It is priced reasonably, too. Competing options are not much cheaper yet have far less charging capabilities.
ESR 6-in-1 Apple-Certified MagSafe Charger Review
Summary
There is not much I can criticise the ESR 6-in-1 charger for. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only 6-in-1 charger out there that also has high power PD USB-C output that is suitable for laptops. While isn’t cheap, it seems to be priced competitively when looking at alternative options.
