Win a Nebra Helium HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner 1

Any links to online stores should be assumed to be affiliates. The company or PR agency provides all or most review samples. They have no control over my content, and I provide my honest opinion.

Following on from my competition for the EarFun Free Pro 2 ANC Wireless Earbuds. I am trying to drive a bit of traffic back to my website after my move from mightygadget.co.uk to mightygadget.co.uk. It is a slow and stressful process with Google.

Anyway, I have a spare Nebra Helium HNT Indoor Hotspot Miner lying around. I actually bought this myself, and it is unused and unopened. I am still quite bitter about how incompetent Nebra were about these hotspots. I waited over a year for them even though Nebra had taken thousands in payments. Cryptocurrency is also going through a bad time in general at the moment.

However, in this case, the Nebra hotspot I have is ready to go and free of charge to the competition winner.

For those not aware of the HNT cryptocurrency and Helium Hotspots. Helium is a decentralized blockchain-powered platform for Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

The hotspot uses a wireless network called LoRaWAN (Low-power wide-area network), and it is designed to cover a wide area and provide data connectivity to IoT devices that only require small amounts of data.

Helium hopes to create a global network as an alternative to using WiFi or mobile data for these devices.

The network is “powered by the people”, with people hosting a hotspot at home, which then allows these IoT devices to transmit data (in theory). It is completely secure and barely uses any data.

In return for hosting a hotspot, you are rewarded with cryptocurrency in the form of HNT. This is generally done by providing coverage, with each hotspot issuing and answering challenges.

At the moment, the reality is that you probably won’t earn much money from these hotspots, but it could be a fun way for you to dip your toes into cryptocurrency and crypto mining. The hotspot itself barely uses any electricity (about the same as a normal router). So if you win this, you don’t really have anything to lose.
