Wahoo has just announced an incremental refresh of the popular ELEMNT ROAM.

As the title suggests, the main upgrade is the shift to a new dual-band GPS chipset which will provide enhanced navigation.

However, they have made minor upgrades across the board. The new bike computer has enhanced navigation, updated Summit Segments Climb, a higher contrast screen, and an upgraded memory capacity of 32GB.

The updated Summit Segments Climb feature makes it even easier than ever for cyclists to check on the progress of a climb. This already popular feature now automatically detects climbs in a preloaded route, shows any already completed climbs, and users can view more in-depth information about the current or upcoming climbs in their ride.

Wahoo has also improved the overall fitness integrations with the ELEMNT ROAM. It probably comes as no surprise that the new computer works seamlessly with Wahoo X allowing riders to sync their workouts on the ROAM and access to outdoor structured workouts and a complete indoor and outdoor workout history in the Wahoo SYSTM app. The ROAM also controls all KICKR Smart Trainers and the KICKR BIKE, and it pairs with all of Wahoo’s other connected devices.

For the more serious athletes, the ELEMNT ROAM has also integrated the Supersapiens glucose sensor system, allowing riders to consistently keep an eye on their glucose data mid-ride, without the need for a phone, with just a glance.

The battery life remains the same at 17 hours which should be more than enough for the longest of endurance rides.

The new ELEMNT ROAM has a higher RRP than the original, priced at £349.99 vs the original £299.99 RRP. At the time of writing, Wahoo is selling the older ELEMNT ROAM for just £199.99.
