Ugreen recently sent me the Ugreen Revodok 105 USB-C hub to check out. This is a very basic USB-C hub that is available on Amazon for under £15 most of the time, so this review is quite short.

The TLDR would be that it works as advertised, and the only competing products at this price point are mainly from random brands.

Performance

There really isn’t much to say about the performance, it works as advertised.

I’d say the most important aspect is the support for the passthrough of 100W USB-C Power Delivery. This is more than enough to charge most lightweight laptops now, even many gaming laptops support 100W USB-C PD for when you are not gaming.

The main benefit here is for laptops with only a couple of USB-C ports, such as my Huawei Matebook 13.

With this hub, I can add USB 2.0 ports, which are ideal for peripherals like keyboards, mice and webcams. Then, add a second monitor and still be able to charge my laptop.

It would complement the Ugreen Nexode 100W GaN wall charger perfectly.

Then, there is a single USB 3.0 port which supports transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps. I tested this with an external SSD, and it achieved the claimed speeds.

I would have preferred the USB 3.0 port to be USB-C, not USB-A, as most external storage and data cables are USB-C nowadays. However, this problem is easily overcome with an adapter or decent USB-A to USB-C cable. Alternatively, Ugreen has other slightly more expensive hubs with better port options.

Price and Alternative Options

The Ugreen Revodok 105 has an RRP of £16.99 and is available from both Ugreen and Amazon.

At the time of writing, it was discounted to £13.59 from Ugreen or £11.99 from Amazon.

For alternative options, you are probably best sticking with Ugreen as they have plenty of options including:

  • Revodok 106 6-in-1 USB-C Hub (100W PD, 4K@30Hz HDMI)
    • Price: £22.49
    • Ports: 3x USB-A 3.0, SD/TF Card Slot, 4K@30Hz HDMI, 100W PD input
  • Revodok 107 7-in-1 USB-C Hub (4K@60Hz HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet)
    • Price: £29.99
    • Ports: 2x USB-A 3.0, SD/TF Card Slot, 4K@60Hz HDMI, 100W PD input, 1 GbE
  • Revodok 206 6-in-1 USB-C Hub (Dual HDMI, 8K@30Hz Single)
    • Price: £34.99
    • Ports: 1x HDMI 4K@60Hz, 1x HDMI 8K@30Hz, 2x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-C 3.0, 100W PD input
  • Revodok Pro 109
    • Price: £39.98
    • Ports: 1x HDMI 4K@60Hz, SD/TF Card Slot, 2x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-C 3.2 10Gbps, 100W PD input, 1 GbE

The cheapest option Anker has is the Anker 341 USB-C Hub (7-in-1) for £32. This also supports 100W input, and then it features 2x USB-A 3.0, 1x USB-C 3.0, SD card slot, HDMI 4K@30Hz and 1 GbE, which would makes it more of a competitor to the Revodok Pro 109.

Verdict

The Ugreen Revodok 105 is very affordable and works as advertised. It is a handy little accessory for anyone who spends a lot of time working on a laptop, giving you an affordable way to convert your laptop to a workstation with a keyboard, mouse and additional monitor.
