Iogear Keymander 2 Mobile Review – A Keyboard/Mouse adaptor for gaming on the iPhone, iPad & Apple TV [GE1337M]

The Keymander 2 Mobile is a similar idea to the various Gamsir peripherals I have reviewed recently. It offers a way to add keyboard and mouse control to your Apple iOS-based devices. You may wonder why this is needed seeing as they have some compatibility built-in, but the Keymander expands the range of compatible games … Read more

Zyxel “hardware-as-a-service” now available through Exertis UK

If you are involved in the technology business, the trend toward the delivery of all aspects of IT “as a service” can’t have escaped your notice. This was triggered by the arrival of the cloud a few years ago and subsequent advances in communications and applications management made it viable to provide software as a service (SaaS). The idea soon caught on and before too long, we saw infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and even desktop as a service (DaaS) offerings on the market.

It was only a matter of time before IT solutions and services were made available on an as-a-service basis. Indeed, hardware as a service (HaaS) propositions have been available for some time, and Zyxel itself has now entered a partnership with Exertis UK, one of our distribution partners in Europe, to offer our products through their platform.

Zyxel XGS1250-12 provides big multi-gig upgrade vs XGS1210-12 for some affordable 10GbE

I reviewed the XGS1210-12 in August last year, at the time the unmanaged (XGS1010)option was the most affordable way of adding multi-gig Ethernet to your home with its two 2.5GbE ports.

The web-managed (not Nebula cloud-managed) Zyxel XGS1250-12 ups the specification considerably.

Keeping the same number of ports overall, and the same either gigabit ports, the new XGS1250-12 upgrades the multi-gig options.

It ditches one of the 10G SFP+ ports offer three multi-gig Ethernet option. Two of which are full fat 10G with the third being 5G.

Currently, the unmanaged XGS1010 is around £180 on Amazon with the managed XGS1210 not being much more at £189.90.
With the Zyxel XGS1250-12 being very new, there is not widespread availability or confirmed prices. The best I can find is 258.94-Euros or around £225. Not exactly cheap but I’d happily pay the extra for proper 10GbE vs the XGS1210.
At £225 this is still one of, if not the, cheapest 10GbE switches on the market. The only other I can think of is the Netgear GS110EMX with just two 10GbE ports at £208

[Update] The OnePlus 9 Pro has launched for £829 and the camera does have a different spec to the IMX 766 using a larger sensor.

It has already been revealed the new OnePlus 9 Pro will feature cameras co-developed with Hasselblad, and the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has now revealed more specifics about the camera.

Via Twitter, he posted two shots, one from the main lens the other from the ultra-wide, claiming they are two equally powerful cameras with countless possibilities.

Lau has also officially announced the 50MP Sony IMX789 sensor that will be exclusive for the company then the ultra-wide will be the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor which is also used on the Oppo Find X3 Pro for both of its sensors.

Normally, companies like Sony, list the details of their technologies, for example, it is quite easy to find the specifics of the Samsung 108MP sensors, but the same isn’t true here.

EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid Wireless earbuds Review – Wireless earbuds with aptX LL for your PS5 / Nintendo Switch & Phone

Launched at the end of January, the EPOS GTW 270 wireless earbuds are the first in-ear option from the gaming orientated audio brand.

What differentiates these from regular TWS earbuds is that they feature the aptX LL codec reducing the latency from 170 – 270 ms found on typical SBC Bluetooth connections down to 40 ms.

aptX LL is about the best low latency option there is at the moment. LLAC/LHDC LL is the main alternative. It is based on the high definition wireless audio technology from LHDC, but designed for low latency and features an auto-detect gaming mode. Savitech claims LLAC has end-to-end latency of around 30ms.

  • Connectivity – Low-latency and Bluetooth 5.1
  • Frequency response – 20-20,000 Hz
  • Battery – 5 hours per charge – 20 total with case
  • IP Rating – IPX 5 water resistance
  • Included: aptX low latency USB-C dongle + USB-C to USB-A extension cable
  • 2 year warranty

Compatible Devices

  • PC
  • Phone (via Bluetooth or Dongle)
  • PS4 / PS5 – EPOS seem confused about PS5 compatibility, some parts of the site say it does have it, others make no mention. I am led to believe it works without a problem though
  • Nintendo Switch
