The yearly Amazon Prime Day starts today, lasting more than a day until tomorrow, acting as a mid-year Black Friday to boost Amazon sales further.

It is a great time to pick up products for any Amazon branded tech or its sub-brands, they are always heavily discounted. Echo and Fire TV devices are a particularly good buy on days like this, the Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra is an absolute bargain at £26.99.

With so many deals on, this list covers some of the best tech I have found for smart homes and security.

Ring Alarm 5 Piece Kit with Indoor Camera

  • Was: £268
  • Now: £129 – 52% saving

There is such a large saving here it is kind of annoying. There is no point buying any Amazon-owned product outside of these sale events unless you urgently need something.

This kit includes a Base Station, Keypad, one Contact Sensor, one Motion Detector, a Range Extender and a Ring Indoor Cam.

All the other kits are on discount too. A lot of people want the outdoor siren, the 11-piece kit that includes this is only reduced by 36%, down to £259, which is still a massive saving. Sadly, the outdoor siren by itself is not on sale.

eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C Max

  • Was: £269.00
  • Now: £179.99 – 33% saving

One of the most well reviewed robotic vacuums from the options on sale. I have not reviewed this one, but I have always been happy with the eufy RoboVac models I have used. This is one of the slim models with a higher suction. It is Wi-Fi controlled but not the smartest of vacuums. There are no boundary strips or LiDAR mapping, you just set schedules, and it bounces around cleaning things.

iRobot Roomba R981

  • Was: £519
  • Now: £329.99 – 26% saving

If you want a robotic vacuum that can handle multiple rooms with mapping, then the iRobot Roomba R981 looks like a great choice. It is probably the most reputable brand in the business, so the RRP is a tad high, but at £329.99, this looks like a superb buy.

Alternatively, if you want the best of the best, then the iRobot Roomba i7+ is reduced from £799.99 down to £599.99, which offer full mapping plus auto emptying. Then there is the Ecovacs DEEBOT N8+ which offers the same functionality but a more affordable brand for just £491.98

  • Was: £299.99
  • Now: £209.99 – 30% saving

I have not actually used the eufyCam 2C Pro, but the standard eufyCam 2C is one of my favourite battery-powered security cameras I have used. The Pro model ups the resolution to 2K, and I expect that it is superb. If you don’t need the higher resolution, the normal 2C is just £149.99.

Arlo Essential Wireless Video Doorbell

  • Was: £179.99
  • Now: £119.99 – 33% saving

I love the Arlo Essential Wireless Video Doorbell it is easily one of the best video doorbells on the market, easily comparable, if not better, than the Ring Video Doorbell 4 thanks to the 1:1 aspect ratio of the video. It is sensibly priced at £180, but at £120, it is an absolute bargain.

Netatmo Smart Outdoor Security Camera

  • Was: £249.99
  • Now: 169.98 – 32% saving

The Netatmo Smart Outdoor Security Camera has been out for a few years now, but it is still one of the best floodlight cameras on the market. For a start, it is a bit more aesthetic than most of the competition, then there are no subscription fees, and it does AI object and face detection.

Arlo Pro 3 Outdoor Floodlight Wireless Home Security Camera System

  • Was: £259.99
  • Now: £179.99 – 31% saving

I have not used the Arlo floodlight camera, but it is a sensible choice if you already use Arlo cameras. It is the only floodlight camera on the market that works on battery as well as being hardwired compatible. I am not sure what the real-life battery performance would be like, but hardwiring outdoor cameras is a huge hassle, so I can definitely see the appeal.

tado° Smart Thermostat – Multi-Room Control Starter Kit V3+

  • Was: £205
  • Now: 159.90

I am a fan of smart thermostats that offer zoned radiator control. If you live in a big house, it is zone control that will save you more money than the smart thermostat itself. The set-up can get pricey though, so this looks like a great deal for anyone wanting to get started with zoned control. tado° also have the individual valves on sale for £49.

NUKI Combo 2.0 Smart Lock

  • Was: £243
  • Now: £167.62 – 31% saving

The Nuki smart lock is one of the best smart locks on the market, it basically works by turning your existing key (or thumb turn) so you can continue using the mechanical key on the exterior of the door and also keep all your external hardware.
