Powerful Hardware for Lightning-Fast Performance
At the heart of the REDMAGIC 9 Pro lies the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Compared to its predecessor, the chipset brings a 32% uplift in CPU performance and 34% faster graphics rendering. Paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, the phone promises lightning-fast speeds whether gaming, multitasking or loading apps.
The phone also features a dedicated gaming chip called Red Core 2 Pro for further optimizations. Together, these components enable the REDMAGIC 9 Pro to run the latest mobile titles smoothly while future-proofing it for years to come.
Immense 6500mAh Battery with 80W Fast Charging
Knowing gaming sessions can be long and intense, REDMAGIC has equipped the phone with a large 6500mAh dual-cell battery. For context, that’s one of the biggest capacities found in a modern smartphone.
Despite the size, charging up is rapid thanks to 80W fast charging. As per REDMAGIC’s internal testing, a full charge from empty takes only 35 minutes. Further, the massive battery allows up to 56 hours of screen-on time based on average usage. Gamers can thus play for extended periods without worrying about their phone dying mid-match.
Upgraded ICE 13 Cooling Prevents Thermal Throttling
Keeping powerful hardware cool is imperative to maintain peak performance. To that end, REDMAGIC has upgraded the vapour chamber cooling system to version 13, now spanning a cavernous 10182mm2. Paired with a relocated camera assembly, the phone sees CPU temperatures reduced by up to 25 degrees Celsius versus the prior model.
Further enhancements include an enlarged heat pipe, straighter air ducts and a high-speed centrifugal fan now spinning at 22,000RPM. Together, these upgrades prevent thermal throttling even during marathon gaming sessions. The fan is also RGB backlit and fully customizable for added flair.
Stunning 6.8-inch 120Hz Full Flat Display
With gaming in mind, REDMAGIC has opted for a large 6.8-inch AMOLED panel made by BOE. The screen stretches edge-to-edge with slim bezels all round, thanks to fifth-generation under-display camera (UDC) technology. Resolution comes in at 2480 x 1116 pixels, while the peak brightness hits 1600 nits for excellent legibility even under direct sunlight.
Being an AMOLED panel, contrast and colours really pop as well. REDMAGIC claims 100% coverage of the cinema-grade DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display also boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for fluid scrolling and gameplay. Best of all, it’s completely flat with no bump whatsoever.
Ergonomic Design with 520Hz Shoulder Triggers
Ergonomics make a big difference during intensive gaming marathons. To that end, the REDMAGIC 9 Pro features a symmetrical rear design with curved sides that fit nicely in hand. The rear panel uses durable glass and is fully flat. REDMAGIC also etched “09” and its logo for some extra visual flair.
Flanking the phone are capacitive shoulder triggers with a blistering polling rate of 520Hz, double that of typical touchscreens. This allows for near-instant reaction times – handy for fast-paced competitive titles. The triggers are also 20% more sensitive and 90% larger versus the prior generation.
Enhanced Gaming and Entertainment Features
On the software front, REDMAGIC OS 9.0 comes with over 20 upgrades focused on gaming. The Game Space hub now supports screen casting to external displays at up to 4K resolution and 120Hz. There’s also new plugins that enable features like screen recording, performance boosting and even aim assists.
For audio, the phone packs dual 1115K speakers powered by a linear motor for stronger haptics and vibration. Sound quality sees a boost too thanks to Snapdragon Sound and DTS:X Ultra certification. The 3.5mm headphone jack means gamers can keep using their favourite gaming headsets as well.
