The main difference between this new model and the Orbi 970 is that the Orbi 770 is a tri-band system, meaning there is not a dedicated 5Ghz backhaul channel, which was what allowed me to achieve multi-gig WiFi speeds when I reviewed the Orbi 970. However, the backhaul should still be superior than previous generation WiFi mesh systems as this can use MLO to combine 5GHz & 6GHz for both the backhaul and fronthaul.
Beyond that, the Netgear have removed the 10GbE ports, and now the router has 1×2.5GbE WAN plus 3×2.5GbE LAN ports while the satellites have 2×2.5GbE LAN ports.
