The Infinix ZERO 5G has just been announced, and it is one of the best-specced devices this affordable brand has launched to date.
While it may not be a high-end device compared to some companies, it should offer a mid to high-end affordable solution for the target markets this launches in.
I am still waiting for information on the exact launch markets, but the Infinix Hot 10S NFC launched in Indonesia, Russia and Latin America.

Mediatek Dimensity 900 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Specification Compared
Both the Mediatek Dimensity 900 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G are affordable mid-range 5G chipsets that should offer all the performance you need for day to day tasks as well as being good for gaming.
Currently, no phones have been launched in the UK with the Mediatek Dimensity 900, but it is used on several Honor, OPPO and Vivo phones that have been launched in Asian markets.
As for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, this has launched on superb phones such as the Realme GT Master Edition, Honor 50 and Xiaomi 11 Lite.

Mediatek Dimensity 900 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Benchmarks Compared
I have previously reviewed the Honor 50, and Realme GT Master, and the SD778G is about the closest Qualcomm chipset to the Dimensity 900.
I have also included some benchmarks from other mid to high-end chipsets that I have personally benchmarked on reviews. This includes the MediaTek Helio G85 which is used on the Infinix Hot 10S NFC.
The below benchmarks show that the Dimensity 900 falls a little short of the SD778G performance, but I suspect the Infinix ZERO 5G will be cheaper than any SD778G based phone, so the overall price to performance ratio should be as good, if not better than Qualcomm.
It is also worth noting that you are looking at more than double the performance across all benchmarks when compared to the Helio G85 that was used on the budget Infinix Hot 10S NFC.

Is the Infinix ZERO 5G with the Mediatek Dimensity 900 good for gaming?
The Infinix ZERO 5G with the Mediatek Dimensity 900 should be excellent for gaming offering a similar level of performance to the Snapdragon 778G. For comparison, it has about the same performance as the Snapdragon 855 in 3Dmark Wildlife, and that was a flagship processor 3 years ago used on phones priced up to £1,000.
Overall
The Infinix ZERO 5G is by far the most powerful phone Infinix has launched to date and offers an excellent level of performance which is ideal for all scenarios. Of course, there are more powerful chipsets on the market, but these all come at higher price points which would limit the appeal to the target markets phones like this launch in.
Overall, the Mediatek Dimensity 900 offers an excellent balance of performance and affordability.
