It is not uncommon for me to take two power banks away with me. I am lucky enough that I have plenty to choose from, and the Anker 737 Power Bank and Ugreen 145W 25000mAh Power Bank get taken with me any time I am away for the weekend.
I could, of course, take a portable power station way with me, the 268Wh BLUETTI EB3A, but at 4.6kg, it is perhaps a bit too big to be used for a lot of scenarios and at £350 I am not sure I would want to leave it lying around at a festival.
Anker has come out with the perfect in-between device, the Anker 548 Power Bank (PowerCore Reserve 192Wh).
As the name suggests, this has a massive 192Wh capacity, so you won’t be able to take it on a plane with you, but it is perfect for long weekends away camping.
The capacity of the PowerCore Reserve is good for charging an iPhone 14 Pro Max over 7 times, so this should keep your family and friends charged up for a couple of days easily.
The capacity is only 28% less than my 268Wh BLUETTI EB3A, yet the weight of 2.31kg is almost half, and it is 43% cheaper. So you are getting much more bang for you buck. The PowerCore Reserve doesn’t have plug sockets, though, it is limited to USB.

Ports and Power Allocation
As far as the ports go, you have:
- 2 × PowerIQ 3.0 USB-C ports
- 2 × PowerIQ 2.0 USB-A ports
Then the power allocation is:

- Two Ports
- 2× USB-C: 60W + 27W

Input:

It is disappointing that the USB-C ports are limited to 60W and 27W. In contrast, the Anker 737 Power Bank can do 140W from USB-C. It shouldn’t be too much of an issue as most laptops can run off 60W, and it is plenty for all phones.
Differentiating it from a power bank, this has an XT 60 solar plug that allows you to connect to solar panels ranging from 10-24 volts.
Then to add more camping credentials, it has a useful pop-up, adjustable light source.
While this is not cheap at £200, there are not many other products like this on the market, portable power stations cost more, and the Anker 737 Power Bank has an RRP of £140 with less than half the storage capacity.
Additional features include an SOS function, an Emergency locator glow strip, smart digital display and a carry handle.
