Advanced Video Recovery [Premium Only]
With the premium plan, you have a variety of media-specific tools, in particular video.
You can:

- Retrieve unlimited video files without any corruption
Video Repair [Premium Only]
The Recoverit Advanced version can aid you in corrupted, truncated, and broken video repair. It provides you with two repair modes – quick and advanced repair, meeting different needs and improving the repair quality.
Bootable Toolkit [Premium and Standard]
This is what you need in the event of a catastrophic systems failure where you can’t boot into Windows. It creates a boot disk that runs Recoverit, and it enables the computer hardware to use a USB storage stick to get all essential system booting information and files rather than the standard/native hard disk or the CD drive.
In Use
Doing basic recoveries is very simple. When the app first loads, you have a list of the hard drives, both the main system drive, additional drives you have installed and external drives. There are also some quick access options if you want to recover files that you have accidentally deleted from the recycle bin or your desktop.
Recovering Deleted Videos & Repairing
During one of my Reolink security camera reviews, I realised I had deleted a sample video that I wanted to reuse.
The basic recovery process is simple, but there are some additional complexities that you may face when recovering video, and the premium version of the Wondershare Recoverit can help with this.
When it recovers the data, it gets placed into the same tree of folders it was previous. So in my example, it was:
G:\Recoverit 2022-08-05 at 07.20.07\C\Users\james\Downloads\reolink
In this scenario, it was good that I had the premium version with the advanced video restoration. The video file I recovered was unplayable. The file size and everything were correct; it was just corrupted, which I think is a common issue with video recovery.
I then tried the video recovery. The simple recovery feature immediately failed and informed me to try the advanced recovery.
From here, Recoverit asked me to provide a sample of a working video, ideally from the same device and in the same format. Out of laziness, I chose a video that was from a different reolink camera, and this also failed. It took quite a few attempts to find a working video that could then be used to restore the broken video successfully. But eventually, I got there.
Overall
Wondershare Recoverit works as advertised and is an extremely user-friendly data recovery tool. There is little need to take your PC or hard drive to a professional when you have tools like this. There is a good chance any local IT company would use software like this but charge a huge premium.
Video recovery is a bit more complex. The actual process is simple enough, but it takes a little bit of trial and error to successfully repair the video.
When I tried to use free recovery tools in the past, they were also able to recover video files, but the logical file structure was missing, and the recovered video was also unplayable. Therefore Wondershare Recoverit is well worth it if you need to recover anything important.
The pricing may not seem that great for one-off recoveries, and I suspect these are going to be the common scenario. The minimum fee you are likely to pay is £50 for a month of usage of the standard version. If you are trying to recover irreplaceable photos, video footage or perhaps some work you have spent days on, then £50 is a bargain.
