During the Kirin 990 keynote, Huawei announced their new FreeBuds 3, the new flagship wireless earphones of the year. It uses a delicate earphone design and comes with a unique, round case. Huawei FreeBuds 3 provides users with more comfortable wearing experience and a nice grip. It has two colour options: black and white. As the first wireless earphones running on Huawei’s self-developed and powerful Kirin A1 chip, Huawei FreeBuds 3 provides stable and fast connectivity, impressive sound quality and smart noise-cancelling experience.
Huawei claims that the FreeBuds 3 are the world’s first noise-cancelling headphones with an open-fit design. What this means is that the earbuds don’t create a sealed physical barrier between your ear canal and the world around you, like the silicon tips on regular in-ear noise-cancelling headphones try to do.
The A1 chipset, which is not dissimilar to the H1 name you find in Apple AirPods, is the first in the world to support the Bluetooth 5.1 standard and is designed to offer lower latency and power consumption compared to other Bluetooth chips.
While these earphones have unashamedly mimicked the Apple Airpods, the inclusion of noise-cancelling allows them to one-up Apple for now.
The FreeBuds 3 Pricing and availability will be confirmed at a later date.
