An early GeekBench result has leaked for the up and coming Pixel 4 XL, as this will be pre-production it won’t necessarily indicate the final score, nor do I think a few points here and there make any difference for real-world scenarios.

However, the leaked GeekBench score shows a result of 2376 and 9045. Comparing it to popular alternatives the result is not the best.

[Update] Upon further reflection, the single-core result is suspiciously low, as there is no reason for it to score so much less in the single-core results than the OnePlus 7 or the Galaxy S10.

  • Single Core
    • Google Pixel 4 XL – 2376
    • Samsung Note 10 Plus – 3419
    • Samsung Galaxy S10 – 3513
    • Huawei P30 Pro – 3289
    • OnePlus 7 Pro – 3497
  • Multi-Core
    • Google Pixel 4 XL – 9045
    • Samsung Galaxy S10 – 10370
    • Samsung Note 10 Plus – 10544
    • Samsung Galaxy S10 – 9765
    • Huawei P30 Pro – 9817
    • OnePlus 7 Pro – 11102

Moving on from the score, the new Pixel is believed to have a 8x zoom, an enhanced Night Sight feature, and a new “Motion Mode” for action scenes, among other things.

Last years Pixel was universally praised for its night shots, many people putting it ahead of Huawei. So it will be interesting to see just how good it is this time around.

It is believed that the Pixel 4 will have a 5.7-inch display, while the Pixel 4 XL will have a 6.3-inch display and both will have a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Pixel 4 may also have a 2800mAh battery, while the Pixel 4 XL would have a 3700mAh battery.

The phone is expected to be announced on the 4th of October
