Creative D200 Bluetooth Speaker : Review

CreativeD200-1

Those guys at Creative sure are nice to let us at MightyGadget test their stuff. No honest that’s the truth. I’ve been a big fan of the company since the days when PCs were getting into our homes. Yes i was a young whipper snapper but I loved taking my PC apart and upgrading components and Creative Sound Cards were always the best and when I got my first SoundBlaster Live card way back when I loved it (in other words I have a bit of a soft spot for them). My colleague recently reviewed their ZiiSound D5 Bluetooth speakers, and boy were they good. The price tag matched them however and what Creative are obviously aiming for here is a more affordable, suitable for everyone speaker dock. Anyway enough about that, what about the Creative D200’s capabilities. Click on for more.

The Boxee Box has suffered delays and was originally supposed to be released by the end of Q2 2010 and it would appear there could be a reason behind this. Originally the box was supposed to be powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 system on a chip but for an unknown reason Boxee and D-Link have jumped shipped and decided to use the Intel Atom CE4100 system-on-a-chip hardware platform.

While Intel Atoms have previously been woefully underpowered for a system such as this it is believed that the CE4100 is able to decode two 1080p video streams with various high-end audio codecs at once along with MPEG-4 support and 3D graphics capability, and it can even capture uncompressed 1080p video. The CE4100 is also the chip behind the Logitech-built Google TV (AKA Revue).
