The Xiaomi sub-brand, Black Shark, today announced their latest gaming orientated phone in China, the Black Shark 2.

As you would expect, and previously reported, the Black Shark 2 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and includes memory options starting with 6GB/128GB and going all the way up to 12GB/256GB.

There is a 6.39” FHD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio display with 1080×2340 resolution and DC Light Dimmer to help with eye strain.

The smartphone’s AMOLED panel with P3 colour gamut delivers cinematic visual quality and unmatched colour accuracy powered by Pixelworks’ Iris visual processor to bring high-performance gaming to life.

In addition, the Black Shark 2 Cinematic Display leverages a full suite of Pixelworks’ display enhancement features, including:

Absolute Color Accuracy, with calibration designed to achieve an average delta E2000 of less than one

TrueView Multi-adaptive Display for optimal viewing across lighting conditions and ambient color tone, including Day Light View (DLV), Night View and Reading Mode for eye comfort

The phone features direct touch liquid cooling system covering all hotspots on the phone allowing it to operate , 14 degrees lower on the CPU’s temperature which represents the best result in the industry.

There is a new Ludicrous Mode, similar to other brands gaming modes. With this enabled the Black Shark 2 will release all the CPU power for supporting gaming performance without dropping frames. Black Shark claim that Ludicrous mode is the only device in the world which can achieve this (test for 2 hours with Ludicrous Mode on, Green line is Black Shark 2’s frames).

There is a decent sized 4000mAh, the battery can withstand intense gaming sessions of up to 5 hours. You can then charge it back up quickly with the 27w fast charge.

The Black Shark 2 features 48MP + 13MP dual rear camera setup and a 20MP selfie shooter.

The phone is available now in China and will be arrive soon to the EU and UK with the following prices:
