After my post about the 24 Karot Mac Book Pro I feel the need for some more Bling. I personally love watches, when I finally become a a billionaire I will most likely collect them, however I despise over the top jewelry I think all these Footballers and Celebrities wearing diamond encrusted watches look like d**ks. Anyway despite my feelings towards celebrities fashion choices here is a list of some of the the worlds most expensive watches.
-
Vacheron Constantin Tour de l'Ile
-
Parmigiani Fleurier Tecnica Skeleton Chronograph
-
Blancpain Grande Complication
-
Girard-Perregaux Opera One
-
Breguet Double Tourbillon
$1.6 million
Touted as the world's most complex watch ever made, Vacheron Costantin's Tour de l'Ile was designed in 2005 as 250th anniversary collectible piece. This 834-part watch took over 10,000 man-hours to create and features an 18-carat silvered gold dial with a hand-sewn alligator leather band and pink gold buckle.
$850,000
This watch won't be available until early 2008, but it's worth the wait. O
nly three will be made. Each will incorporate a platinum case and complications that include a minute repeater, tourbillon and chronograph, as well as a cathedral chime with which you can ring in the New Year.
$785,000
This winding wristwatch features traditional complications such as minute repeater, split-seconds chronograph, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, moon phase and an automatic winding mechanism. The sleek black crocodile wristband pulls it all together.
$495,000
This platinum timepiece features an alligator band and posseses a “Westminster” minute repeater and tourbillon with three gold bridges, manual winding, 75-hour power reserve and a see-through backing. If $495,000 just barely surpasses your budget, the rose gold version retails for a slightly more affordable $450,000.
$329,000
This grand complication, double-tourbillon watch with a 95% pure platinum case is hand-engraved with an image of the solar system. The blued-steel Breguet hands are wound manually.
