I previously reviewed the excellent app-enabled Sphero Mini, which is a small robotic ball you can control from your smartphone.

Packed with teeny tiny tech, Sphero Mini has a little gyroscope, accelerometer, and LED lights. With almost an hour of play time, Sphero Mini is the next big thing.

This is great fun for people of all ages and provided me with plenty of entertainment. It is not just a one trick pony though, you can use the ball as a controller to shoot your way through space, race a vehicle through a tunnel, or rotate your ball to destroy a polygon of bricks.

It also has some fantastic tools for learning programming and can be sued to learn JavaScript using the Sphero Edu app. I wish I could have had access to a tool like this was I was a child, it would have made learning to programme so much more fun. I am envious of all these young kids that are far more proficient at programming than I am!
