VR isn't dead yet!, which is something that people should keep in mind in spite of what some articles have said in recent months. People, in general, have had a tendency to want to be ahead of everyone else for a while now when it comes to many different original observations. Really, it's constantly making observations like this that signifies a much more real cultural trend.
These days, it seems like people are more or less racing with each other all the time in an effort to stand out from the crowd. Standing out from the crowd is different enough that a lot of people will try even harder to do so now, and this means going against a lot of received wisdom.
This can create a situation where people are saying a lot of things that seem to be very ridiculous just in order to actually get people interested in them. People who try to get noticed in this way more or less have to declare a lot of different things dead in order to get the attention of others. Given the popularity of virtual reality as a topic, it is no surprise that a lot of people will adopt a position that is very negative towards virtual reality today.
The sales of virtual reality headsets have been disappointing. The people who claim that virtual reality is dead will usually point this out, and then they will say that this is a trend that is never going to change at any point. People have also said that virtual reality technology is dead because the medium has failed to truly live up to the expectations that a lot of people had initially.
However, a lot of people have had high expectations for a technology that were not fulfilled. This does not necessarily mean that they are going to give up hope altogether. Some people will just modify their expectations a little as a result of what happened. Other people will just try to push for all of the technological changes even harder. People would not be able to play slot games online today if people, in general, were that willing to give up at the first sign of trouble.
A lot of people are interested in virtual reality today. The people who create virtual reality are interested in it. The people who might be interested in the later stages of virtual reality still want to see what is going with it. All of that excitement is not going to go away entirely anytime soon, in spite of the fact that not everything is going to plan for the people who are trying to find a way to bring people's dreams of virtual reality into the reality that everyone accepts.
There is still plenty of time for these dreams to come true. The modern headsets might not represent the pinnacle of the technology. They are, however, enough to get the industry started, and that can be enough for an eventual revolution.
