The Benefits of Using Oil Filled Radiators

Sharing is caring!

There are a lot of different options to choose from out there if you are looking to keep your property warm, while saving as much money as you can. Have you ever given serious consideration to oil filled radiators? If you haven’t in the past, it may be time to do so now. Oil filled space heaters have become one of the most popular options for bringing controlled warmth and comfort to homes and properties.

Why? In the following post we are going to discuss three of the main reasons why they are so popular and why you should invest in them.

Versatile Designs

When you think of radiators, it’s likely that you either imagine a portable model that can be easily moved from one room to another, as and when necessary or as a larger fixed model installed onto the wall. One of the major benefits of oil filled radiators is that you can have them in either form, depending on what you need for your property or individual rooms.

For instance, if you have a room that is not always used throughout the year and only needs to be warmed at certain points in time, a portable oil-filled radiator would be the best option. Whereas, for the most frequented and high traffic areas of your property or home you could have oil filled radiators installed in a fixed position to get the best use out of them.

Exceptional Thermal Retention

Regardless of the style and design of oil filled radiator you are looking at, one constant that remains the same with them all is how they heat up. Oil or an alternative engineered thermal fluid is warmed up inside a special housing and the heat is transferred into the property/room, increasing the temperature of the surrounding air in the space.

Obviously, it takes a lot longer to warm up liquid than it does wiring, but that doesn’t mean you should dismiss oil-filled radiators. Oil has another massive advantage over other options in that it is exceptional at heat retention. Which means that less energy overall is required to increase the temperature in the space you want to heat. It’s also worth noting that even after you’ve switched them off and they are not using electricity, they will still give off radiated heat as oil and other fluids used in these heaters are designed to cool down slowly.

Costs Less to Run

Following nicely from the above, the heat retention properties mean that oil filled radiators are more energy-efficient, which means they cost a lot less than many of the alternatives to run. If you pair fixed oil-filled radiators with cutting-edge digital programmable thermostats, you will be able to drive down the cost of your heating bills more, as you can create a specific schedule for each room.

Quieter Operation

Noise is an issue you will find that many people have with other forms of radiators. You may have had the same experience. Space heaters that utilise fans to direct the warm air into the room can be irritating due to the sound of the fan spinning constantly while it is in use. However, with an oil-filled radiator, like any of the top 10 best at the fact that there is no fan present, means that there is virtually no noise generated. Occasionally, you will hear the thermostat clicking, but that is about it.

Better Air Humidity

Another issue you find with many other forms of heating is that the air is dried out. As well as making your home and rooms more uncomfortable, these conditions can create an environment where you could get infections and viruses more easily. With oil-filled radiators, though, you don’t have this problem as the air will continue to have a reasonable humidity level and be comfortable to breathe.
