GOgroove SonaVERSE LBr 2.1 USB Speaker Review

Sharing is caring!

The GOgroove SonaVERSE LBr 2.1 USB Speakers are a cheap micro speaker system that is available on Amazon for just £28.29.

Powered by USB these are not going to be the loudest speakers on the market. The sub is rated at 5W and the satellites at 3w. Due to the low powered nature of them everything about them is quite petite. The sub is just 13.3 x 15.2 x 17.1cm and the satellites just 7 x 7.1 x 7.1cm.

Build quality is as you would expect for a sub £30 speaker. It’s not dreadful, but it is very plasticky and everything feels very light.

Set up is just as simple as any other speaker with a 3.5mm input. The only difference here is that you plug the power into a spare USB socket. I used a powered USB hub on my PC.

Sound quality isn’t too bad, if you keep the volume down the bass and treble do an acceptable job.

I wouldn’t really recommend these are a permanent desktop speaker, for just a bit more you can get a lot more speaker. They would make decent speakers for a laptop located on a desk. You can move them around easily enough. That being said, with them being a 2.1 speaker, they will still be a little awkward to transport around in a bag, or use anywhere other than on a table.

Overall, they are adequate speakers for the price and what they are supposed to do. If you are just going to have them in the same spot all the time, you would probably be better investing in some more substantial speakers. Or, if you plan to carry them around in a bag for laptop speakers, a smaller 2.0 would be a better fit.
