Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro Images & Key Specification Leaked Ahead of Launch

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will today launmch the Redmi K20 series, which will come in a standard model and the Pro model. Dubbed Killer 2.0, taking aim at the OnePlus flagship killer nickname, this is expected to be one of the most affordable flagships of the year.

Images of the Redmi K20 Pro and its Chinese retail packaging leaked ahead of its launch today. The photos reveal that the K20 Pro has a large 6.39-inch AMOLED display. The K20 Pro also gets a 7-th generation in-display fingerprint scanner and lacks a display notch as the phone features a pop-up selfie camera.

The K20 Pro will come powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC. Previous leaks have revealed that the K20 Pro will feature up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is also likely to be made available in 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+129GB configurations.

The rear of the phone will have the increasingly common 48-megapixel camera (most likely the Sony IMX586), this will then be teamed up with a 13MP wide angle secondary camera, and a third 8MP telephoto camera. The main camera is capable of recording 4K 60 videos and has support for 960fps slow-motion videos as well. The front facing camera housed inside the pop-up mechanism will be capable of capturing 20-megapixel images.

The phone is expected to come with a microSD slot, and be able to accept dual SIMs. It is also believed to feature a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.

It is also expected the phone will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack with Hi-Res Audio certification. The phone will have NFC and this will be the first Redmi phone featuring it.

The standard Redmi K20 will drop the SoC spec down to the 8nm Snapdragon 730 mobile platform with up to 8 GB of RAM.

There is no confirmation if or when the phone will arrive in the UK and other EU countries. Rumours have circulated that the phone will be named Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro. in Poland. If this name is true, it will also likely be applicable across all EU countries.
