I love Xiaomi and for better or worse they sure like to release a lot of phones, then confuse us all by naming them different things between regions. To be fair, Huawei does this too, but not as bad in my opinion.
The current new phone tipped to release soon is the Xiaomi Mi CC9 which may, or may not launch in the EU/UK as the Xiaomi Mi A3.
The specs are not confirmed yet, and the phone should launch tomorrow on 2nd of July, where I will update this post with the final specification.

What We Know So Far
The phone is definitly launching tomorrow, and is being called CC9. This is a new range from Xiaomi and Lei Jun, the company CEO, explained earlier this month the phones will be for young and creative people.
The will be a special edition called the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition, which based on leaked images has a rear colour a lot like Breathing Crystal on the Huawei P30 Pro.
The phone will be coming with a feature called Mimoji which is similar to Apple’s Animoji, Samsung’s AR Emoji, Huawei’s Qmoji etc.
Xiaomi says that Mimoji comes with 165 different hairstyles, faces and accessories to choose from, and it supports both still pictures as well as video recording.
Current Rumours & Spec Comparison
A Xiaomi smartphone listed on TENAA bearing model number M1904F3BT, which is very likely the Mi CC9, confirms that the smartphone will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and come in three memory versions – 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB. The CPU suggests we are looking at either a Snapdragon 710 or Snapdragon 730 chipsets as they alone in the current Qualcomm lineup match that clock speed.
This would, therefore, give the phone similar specs to the only just released Xiaomi Mi 9T and the not that long ago released Xiaomi Mi 9 SE. The Mi 9 SE has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 while the Mi 9T uses the superior SD730.
Based on the rumours, all three phones will have identical rear camera specifications, but the front camera differentiates them. The Mi CC9 has a 32MP front-facing camera hidden in a notch, the Mi 9 SE and Mi 9T have a similar 20MP camera but the 9T uses a pop up to give a beautiful uninterrupted screen.
Both the Mi CC9 and Mi 9T 6.39 inches display running at 1080×2340 pixels but the CC9 has a notch giving it a slightly lower screen to body ratio of 85.8% vs 86.1%. The Mi 9 SE uses a 5.97 inch display at the same resolution.
The CC9 is believed to have a 3900mAh battery, the Mi 9T uses a similar 4000mAh battery and the Mi 9 SE has a small 3070mAh battery.
Confusing Names
Knowing Xiaomi, if this launches in the UK it won’t use the same name, some rumours indicate that it could be the Xiaomi Mi A3, though that would actually make it slightly different. The Mi A range uses Android One as the OS.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 which launched as the Mi 6X uses an SD660 chipset, so if the above rumours are true, then the new A3 should be getting a hefty spec bump, especially if it uses the SD730.
