This year we could have more options, though these will likely need to be imported. The Realme X Pro and similarly named Redmi X are both aiming to be two of the most affordable options on the market.
Several new leaks have come out regarding the Realme X. Like many phones nowadays, it may come in multiple variants, the Realme X is guaranteed but the other two are still speculation. TENNA listings confirm that there are two models certified (RMX1901 and RMX1851) which backs up the claims that there will be multiple variants.
The normal Realme X will be powered by the new Snapdragon 730 and it will come equipped with a 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The front camera will be a pop-up leaving the 6.5-inch screen notch-less.
The display of the Realme X will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and it will be equipped with a sixth-generation in-screen fingerprint reader. TENAA has also revealed that the smartphone is packed with a minimum capacity battery of 3,680mAh battery. The new leak states that it will carry support for VOOC 3.0 flash charging technology.
The Realme X will be releasing in China in three models such as 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. These models are rumoured to be respectively priced at 1,599 Yuan (£181/$
237.42), 1799 Yuan (£204/$267) and 1,999 Yuan (£227/£296).
Realme X Pro
The Realme X Pro is rumoured to be released in China in 6 GB and 8 GB RAM variants. Both the models may come with 128 GB of native storage. These variants could be respectively priced at 2,299 Yuan (£260/$340) and 2,599 Yuan (£295/$386).
Redmi has been teasing the launch of a Snapdragon 855 phone so the confidence behind this rumour is reasonably strong.
With the above quoted prices, if they are accurate, it will be for their launch country. Once companies like Gearbest sell them, there will be a small premium to pay.
