The Motorola one has had most of its details leaked the past few weeks, with the most recent big reveal from XDA Developers.

The interesting thing about this phone is that it ditches Qualcomm in favour of the Samsung Exynos 9610. What is unusual about this is that it is very rare for a none Samsung phone to have an Exynos chipset.

CDMA patent disputes with Qualcomm are allegedly behind why non-Samsung smartphones rarely have Exynos chipsets, though Qualcomm denied this allegation back in 2017.

The Exynos 9610 has four ARM Cortex-A73 CPU cores clocked at 2.3GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The GPU is ARM’s Mali-G72. You will also find this running inside the Samsung Galaxy A50.

The chipset specification matches up with a recent geekbench listing showing the phone achieve 1599 on the single core test and 5328 on multi-core.

As the name suggests the Motorola One Vision is an Android One phone and therefore will have no bloatware, and come with guaranteed updates for two years.

The smartphone will be available in 3 or 4GB RAM models with 32, 64, or 128GB of storage. The Motorola One Vision will have a 3,500mAh battery which is moderately sized and should work well with the mid rang Exynos.

The rear camera will be marketed as 48MP, similar to the Redmi Note 7, but it will take shots at 12MP. In daylight, it can use super-resolution techniques to output 48MP photos with 0.8μm pixels. In low light, the phone uses 4-in-1 pixel binning to simulate 1.6μm pixels and take photos with an effective resolution of 12MP.

Motorolla will be launching two new camera features for this phone named “Video 3D HDR” and “Long Exposure.” Long Exposure is likely to help the user take better photos in low-light conditions, but Video 3D HDR is not known exactly what it will do.

One of the important specs that are not confirmed yet, is the display. It is believed that it will have a resolution of 2520×1080 in resolution giving it an elongated 21:9 display like the recent Sony Xperia 1. However early CAD renders contradict this somewhat which indicated it would have a 6.2-inch display and overall dimensions of 160.1 x 71.2 x 8.7mm which would make that resolution difficult.

The display will use a punch-hole similar to the Honor View 20, with the hole on the left-hand side.

What is not known is where the phone will actually be sold, it might not arrive in the EU or UK at all. The Motorola One Vision will be sold in Latin America, China, and other international markets but that is all that is known.
