DDR4 Prices started to rise sharply in the middle of 2016 nearly tripling in price when they peaked at the around January 2018. Since then they have been declining, first slowly, but more recently there have been some significant savings to be had.

One example is the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz C15 which was £59.99 in May 2016 then peaked at £195.08. At the moment it currently sits at just over £100, which is still quite a bit more than its lowest price, but a nearly 50% drop in a little over a year is impressive.

So what are some of the best buys for DDR4 right now? Unsuprisingly most of these come from Amazon, with CCL having one decent option on the list. Most of these are not high end sticks, but a lot of them are 3000Hz which seems to be a sweet spot for performance/pricing at the moment.

Ballistix Sport LT 16GB – 1x16GB – 3000Hz – £74.42

Single sticks, but 32GB for under £150 running at 3000 MT/s or 3000Mhz. Amazon was still selling these for £180 back in December!

Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1x 8GB) 3000MHz DDR4 RAM CL15 – £39.98 via CCL

This is only for a single stick, so would be £80 for two, but it has CL15 timings making it superperior to most of the other CL16 options on the list.

HyperX 16 GB RAM Kit 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) 2400 MHz – £79.99

The decription states: Kit 16 GB (2 x 8 GB), 2400MHz, DDR4 CL15 DIMM, HyperX FURY Black. Automatic overclocking – Up to 3466MHz

It is currently a touch higher with Amazon but a 3rd party has it for £79.99

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz C16 – £83.99

If you like Corsair then this is one of the best buys for 16GB, lots of movement in the price so keep an eye on it.

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz C16 – £164.56

I personally bought this one before I found the single stick Ballistix Sport for £74 each. I might send it back, but not sure it is worth the hassle for a tenner

G.Skill Memory D4 3600 16GB C18 RGB – £128.39

This has been as low as £123 recently, and if you are aiming at a high end build with a bit of RGB then this looks like an amazing option. They were close to £200 back in January.
